Google Is Trying to Interfere in the Congressional Elections

It has become abundantly obvious that the left has become desperate. Their political future is looking rather bleak as the midterm elections inch ever closer.

With Republicans poised to possibly retake both chambers of Congress, Democrats are scrambling to mitigate the political damage they will take. The future beyond 2022 might be even worse for the left, which is why Big Tech is trying to do its part to protect its beloved politicians.

A new report from Newsbusters indicated that Google, the world’s largest search engine company, has been cooking political search results to benefit Democrats. From the report:

Anti-Democracy Google is manipulating search results to bury Senate Republican candidates’ campaign websites before the 2022 midterm elections. This comes on the heels of a North Carolina State University study that found that Google’s Gmail marked 59.3 percent more emails from “right”-leaning candidates as spam compared to “left”-leaning candidates.

Brent Bozell, founder and president of the Media Research Center (MRC), which runs Newsbusters, argued that “Google must be investigated for its un-American efforts to sway the election.”

He continued:

“First, researchers caught Google red-handed by proving Republican campaign emails were sent to spam. Now we’ve uncovered Google manipulating search results to hide Republican campaign websites while promoting Democratic ones. This is all an effort by Google to help Democrats and interfere in the democratic process.”

MRC Free Speech America researched search results from Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo for 12 critical Senate races.

“Our researchers caught Google burying 10 of 12 Senate Republican Party candidates’ campaign websites while highlighting their opponents’ campaign sites in organic search results,” the report said. “This stands in stark contrast to Bing and DuckDuckGo whose search results treated Republican and Democrat campaign websites more neutrally than Google.”

The analysis found that ten out of 12 GOP candidates’ campaign websites “appeared far lower (or did not appear at all) on page one of Google’s organic search results compared to their Senate Democratic Party opponents’ campaign website.”

Researchers discovered that “Google completely hid seven of 12 Senate Republican Party candidates’ campaign websites in page one organic search results.”

The study concluded that “Google’s search result bias is undeniable when compared to Bing and DuckDuckGo.”

“With the exception of one candidate, both Bing and DuckDuckGo showed both the Senate Democratic Party candidates’ campaign websites and the Senate Republican Party candidates’ campaign websites in the top five organic search results on page one,” the report read.

This is not the first time Google has been caught using its algorithms to help Democrats and attack Republicans. As Bozell noted, it was revealed earlier this year that the company was automatically sending emails coming from Republican candidates and organizations to users’ spam folders.

An official from the Republican National Committee (RNC) told Fox News that Gmail “suppressed” more than 22 million emails. About 358,000 of these were Get Out The Vote messages.”

“Every single month, like clockwork, Google suppresses important GOTV and fundraising emails at the end of the month, with zero explanation nor commitment from Google to resolve this issue,” said RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. “We are less than 40 days out from Election Day, and important GOTV emails to our opted-in voters in states that have already started early voting are being systematically sent to spam.”

But it is not only Republicans making this accusation against Google. North Carolina University performed a study analyzing the company’s spam filtering algorithms and found that it “marks a significantly higher percentage (67.6%) of emails from the right as spam compared to the emails from left (just 8.2%).”

What Google is doing is nothing less than an effort to suppress votes and support Democratic candidates. It has a history of using its platform to benefit leftist causes. Unfortunately, it isn’t likely anything will be done about it unless Republicans manage to grow a pair when they retake the House and Senate.
