Here’s What Biden Cares About When It Comes to the Migrant Crisis

It’s been apparent since the beginning that President Joe Biden had no solutions for the migrant crisis he and his team started. This administration has shown itself to be unable, or more accurately, unwilling to do something about the ever-worsening situation at the southern border.

As floods of migrants and illegal aliens swarm our borders and sneak into the country, Biden and company have been sitting back, twiddling their thumbs and saying, “What migrant crisis?” While watching the problem become even more dire, they have taken to gaslighting the public about the severity of the issue. Multiple White House officials have falsely claimed the border is secure despite the fact that over two million have tried to enter the country illegally.

Now, a report reveals what the president is truly concerned about in this affair: Optics.

The White House reportedly tried to persuade the Democratic mayor of El Paso, Texas, to refrain from issuing an emergency declaration over the constant arrivals of illegals and migrants into the city. Officials made the request ostensibly to avoid criticism and scrutiny over the situation, according to The New York Post.

During a phone call held last month, the White House cautioned Mayor Oscar Leeser against issuing the declaration. This was against the advice of at least three city council members who called on the mayor to declare an emergency.

“He told me the White House asked him not to,” said Councilmember Claudia Rodriguez.

The mayor reportedly assured Rodriguez that he would issue the declaration “if things got worse.”

El Paso has been on the front lines of this crisis and is one of the cities taking the brunt of the impact. It has been charged with housing, feeding, and providing other resources and assistance to migrants as the surge continues. A fact that is not often reported in the media is that the city has also been busing migrants to New York City and has been doing so since August. It is currently taking in about 900 illegals and migrants daily and has spent up to millions to support them.

“It is a sleight of hand what the administration is doing — pressuring the local government to not issue a declaration of emergency, to say as if everything is going OK,” said Republican Texas Rep. Tony Gonzales, whose district covers El Paso and other border towns.

El Paso has been struggling to manage the inflow of migrants and illegals over the past year. But the city has become overwhelmed. The city’s government and various nonprofit organizations have worked to make sure that these individuals are given food and shelter as they are released into their city.

The goal is to avoid having crowds of migrants camped out on city streets again like last week. Staff at one of the nonprofits said the flow of migrants has slowed in recent days, giving them a chance to catch their breath.

Nicole Reulet, marketing director for the Rescue Mission of El Paso, told Fox News that federal authorities dropped off migrants in front of the homeless shelter on Sept. 8 with no warning.

“They didn’t even come into the parking lot,” she said. “They parked on the side of the street and told them, like, ‘The mission’s over there.'”

“It is straining,” she added. “I don’t know how long we can do it for.”

Fox News reported:

Border Patrol agents at the El Paso sector, which includes New Mexico, have encountered an average of 1,500 migrants per day this month, according to US Border Patrol. Across the entire southern border, agents have logged more than 2.1 million migrant encounters so far in Fiscal Year 2022, exceeding last year’s total of about 1.7 million encounters and more than quadruple the number of encounters in fiscal year 2020.

Border Patrol is being stretched thin. Border towns are being overwhelmed in Texas and Arizona. Hundreds of thousands of people are entering the country illegally, avoiding the authorities. Millions upon millions of dollars are being spent to care for these individuals. But the Biden administration is most concerned about optics.

That pretty much sums up this entire administration. They want to be seen as employing solutions to stop the migrant crisis while not actually addressing the problem, even with Govs. Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis sending illegals and migrants to blue cities, the left is loath to use tougher border policies to ease the burden.

The problem for these folks is that they are not fooling anyone. Everyone knows the immigration situation is grim regardless of how hard this administration tries to spin it.
