There are some early indications that the Democrats’ “Jim Crow 2.0” narrative about election laws passed in red states is a steaming pile of bovine excrement. Of course, anyone with a modicum of common sense already knew the left was lying about these laws suppressing votes. But now, the numbers are going to give us concrete proof that the legislation – regardless of what one thinks about it – is not preventing black Americans-or any other Americans-from casting their votes.
Democrats started blaming their upcoming losses on voter suppression in March. They were already preparing the narrative that Republicans will win by somehow keeping massive numbers of black Americans from voting. Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) predicted this is how the GOP will win in 2022 and 2024. “They look at who votes Democratic and then they try to focus their suppression efforts on various demographics, and it’s definitely intentional,” he said. “It’s done in response to the Big Lie and a false premise to tighten rules and target those rules to those who vote primarily for Democrats, in an effort to win the 2022 and ‘24 elections.”
On Wednesday, Fox News Radio’s Brian Kilmeade invited Georgie Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on his program to discuss early voting in the Peach State. The conversation revealed that the Democrats were being dishonest when they raised faux concerns about voter suppression last year. Raffensperger said President Joe Biden and his merry band of Democrats in Congress were “just flat, dead wrong” about the state’s election laws, and that they have already seen “record turnout” during primary season.
He said:
“You have to remember, when we passed the Election Integrity Act, President Biden came down to Georgia, they told everyone how they did so good up north. And yet, meanwhile, in Georgia, we added a day of early voting. We have record turnout. And President Biden’s home state of Delaware has ten days of early voting. We have 17 days. And right now, so far, we’re at 540,000 people have voted early or had their absentee ballots accepted. We’re going to see probably over 750,000 people vote before Election Day next week. So, we’re having record turnout, and it’s just tremendous to see that President Biden was just flat, dead wrong about Georgia’s Election Integrity Act of 2021.”
Georgia’s Secretary of State’s office noted that there were 496,971 votes cast in person. This is twice the number of votes that were cast during the primaries in 2020 and 2018.
If this trend continues in Georgia and other states during the primary and general elections, the Democrats’ hallowed “Jim Crow 2.0” narrative will go up in flames. It will be quite difficult for Democrats and their comrades in the activist media to explain this one away.
But this does not mean they will not try.
Indeed, it is not hard to predict how they will respond when all the numbers are in and the dust has settled.
The first tactic will be to ignore voter turnout altogether. Networks like CNN, MSNBC, and other activist media outlets might make a few mentions of “record turnout,” but they will not emphasize it too strongly. This will especially be true if Democrats lose as bigly as expected.
But when they are forced to talk about it, they will use the only argument they have at their disposal. They will say that voter turnout – especially black voter turnout – was higher despite Republican attempts to capture the spirit of Bull Connor and prevent them from showing up at the polls. Their media activists and politicians will claim they were able to mobilize African Americans in a way that allowed them to somehow break through the ironclad efforts of Republicans to keep them away from the ballot box.
They will not provide a shred of evidence to back up their claims.
How do I know?
Because they already did it with previous elections in which blacks turned out to vote, even with voter ID laws in place. Indeed, in 2020, blacks voted in record numbers in states like Texas, even though progressives were telling us the Lone Star state hates it when melanated humans vote.
Nevertheless, the numbers will not lie. When it is apparent that nobody-black, white, or otherwise-was prevented from voting, the Democrats will be shown to be feckless liars who would rather make excuses for their losses than to take responsibility. But will they finally learn their lesson?
