The left has taken the maxim “Always accuse your opponent of that which you are doing” and honed it to near perfection. The latest example of this is how progressive Democrats are moving in the wake of the white supremacist terrorist attack in Buffalo, New York. High-profile leftists have been exploiting the victims of the assault to smear Republicans and conservatives for supposedly promoting the ideology that radicalized the alleged shooter.
Left-leaning politicians and media activists have tried linking Fox News host Tucker Carlson and other prominent conservative media figures to the attack, claiming they are responsible for the carnage. It is a blatant attempt to con the public into believing conservatives share the same type of racist and anti-Semitic attitudes as the person who carried out the assault.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) took to Twitter to “demand accountability” for members of Congress who supposedly helped to spread the shooter’s ideology. She tweeted:
White supremacy has cost countless lives from El Paso to Mother Emanuel and now Buffalo. Our hearts break for the victims. And we demand accountability for those in Congress and in social media that perpetrate this deadly ideology.

Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) also chimed in, echoing AOC’s drivel, claiming “Republicans have galvanized an entire movement around the Great Replacement Theory, a white supremacy conspiracy theory that fuels their dislike and fear of others.”
they choose, wearing a hijab, burka or yamaka, or speaking in their native tongue. Republicans have galvanized an entire movement around the Great Replacement Theory, a white supremacy conspiracy theory that fuels their dislike and fear of others. (8/10)

Not to be outdone, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) tweeted:
Heartbreaking and infuriating.
This white nationalist ideology has been amplified by the mainstream rightwing and used as a catalyst for heinous acts of terror.
When, at long last, will the GOP have the courage to treat it as the threat that it is??

What is interesting about these lawmakers’ comments is that while they are accusing Republicans of supporting the anti-semitic Great Replacement Theory, they are engaging in their own type of anti-Jewish behavior. Each of these individuals, along with other leftist lawmakers, are co-sponsoring a resolution introduced by Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) that would call for the U.S. to recognize the term “Nakba,” which is translated as “catastrophe.” It is a reference to the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948.
Fox News reported:
The resolution was submitted a week and a half after Israeli Independence Day, which coincides with Palestinian commemoration of Nakba Day. It calls for the U.S. to “commemorate the Nakba through official recognition and remembrance,” while claiming that this “refers not only to a historical event but to an ongoing process of Israel’s expropriation of Palestinian land and its dispossession of the Palestinian people that continues to this day.”
“The Palestinian people since the 48 Nakba have been living under oppression and violent racism. Silence + blank checks enables more death and violence,” Tlaib declared in a tweet. She was referring to the year Israel was established and recognized by the rest of the world and the fact that the United States has given financial support to the Jewish state.
Tlaib, the daughter of Palestinian immigrants, introduced the resolution on Monday. It claims the Palestinians were opposed to the United Nation’s 1947 suggestion to divide Judea and Samaria, also known as Palestine, into two separate states, one for Arabs and the other for Jews. It also says hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were forced to flee their homes before the 1948 establishment of Israel because of “attacks by Zionist militias.”
The resolution does not acknowledge Arab involvement in removing Palestinians from their land. There is no mention of the fact that the five Arab nations that attacked Israel urged Palestinians to leave their homes shortly before the launching of hostilities so they would not be caught in the crossfire. It does not even point out that Arabs used many Palestinian areas to attack the fledgling Jewish state. In short, it reeks of anti-Jewish propaganda.
Tlaib’s resolution is clearly an attempt to perpetuate a false narrative about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. It is a clear attempt to demonize the Jewish people – and it is not the first time she and her ilk in the “Squad” have trafficked in anti-Semitic tropes. Israel has definitely not behaved perfectly in its conflict with the Palestinians, but the notion that the United States should consider its creation as a “catastrophe” is about as anti-Semitic as it gets. But in light of the shooting in Buffalo, we can see it for what it is: Projection.
