President Biden’s Open Borders Policies Are Endangering Americans

Ever notice how Democrats’ policies, which are supposedly based on compassion, always tend to place more people in danger? The progressive left is about as incompetent as Inspector Gadget when it comes to actually helping people. The difference is they never stumble into success like the titular cyborg detective.

Recent reports suggest that Biden’s immigration policies will place even more Americans in peril as he works to make it easier for people to enter and remain in the country illegally. Earlier this month, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) obtained information from Immigration and Customs Enforcement which revealed that deportations under the Biden administration have dropped 90 percent since the president took office.

Yes, you read that right.

There has been a 90-percent drop in deportations under Uncle Joe, and this is not going to go well for Americans. According to the report:

Under Biden Policies, ICE Removals Have Plummeted to a Fraction of Normal Levels.

On his first day of office (January 20, 2021), President Biden issued a directive halting virtually all deportations for 100 days and greatly restricting immigration enforcement activity. Following a lawsuit by Texas asserting grave fiscal and public safety harm to its citizens from a near-suspension of federal immigration enforcement, within two weeks federal judge Drew Tipton halted the deportation freeze and later enjoined it indefinitely pending further legal action.

However, this does not mean that no restrictions have been placed on immigration authorities. CIS also explains:

The restrictions on other enforcement actions have remained in place with some minor modifications, meaning that, in effect, ICE has been limited to removing known or suspected terrorists, aliens convicted of very serious crimes (mostly those defined as “aggravated felons”), and recent illegal arrivals.

The Washington Examiner reported:

Unless something drastically changes over the next two months, more than 2 million migrants will have been arrested while illegally attempting to cross the southern border during President Joe Biden’s first year in office.

Under Biden’s open-borders policies, hundreds of thousands of these migrants were then released into the United States, often flown at taxpayer expense, to their final destination. There, they will apply for asylum, a process that will take years, and the vast majority of them (more than 85%) will lose their asylum claims.

The Examiner also noted that “[e]ven before Biden became president, only a tiny percentage of the over 10 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. were being deported each year. And now, under Biden, that number has dropped to almost zero.”

If this current trend continues, the Biden White House will have deported about 62,000 illegals this year. To provide some perspective, former President Donald Trump deported over 267,000 aliens in 2019

Acting ICE Director Tae Johnson claims the agency has been decreasing deportations so that they can focus “our limited resources on cases that present threats to national security, border security, and public safety,” according to the Examiner.

However, the data from CIS demonstrates that this is a lie. The number of deportations of dangerous criminals has also dropped from what it was under the previous administration. In short, President Biden is allowing more potentially violent criminals to remain in the country.

From the Examiner:

In the first five months of 2019, for example, Trump’s ICE deported 1,682 illegal immigrants who were also convicted of sexual assault. During a similar time frame in 2021, Biden deported only 798 such offenders. A similar pattern exists for drug traffickers (6,871 to 2,460), homicide (705 to 357), and robbery (1,119 to 408). Biden’s failure to deport these convicted criminals means that there are more violent illegal immigrants on the street capable of harming innocent people.

While the Biden administration has attempted to make it appear as if they are doing something about illegal immigration, there are reasons for skepticism. The White House is reinstated the “Remain in Mexico” policy, but it is clear they are doing so under protest; a federal judge ruled that the administration would have to re-administer the program.

Moreover, the administration has been caught flying illegals into various parts of the country. It has happened in Florida and other locations. It is abundantly clear that the White House wishes to keep as many of these individuals in the country for as long as possible, and the president is willing to deport fewer violent criminals if it means importing more people. It seems that the safety of American citizens is pretty low on his list of priorities. Unfortunately, this pattern will continue until he is out of office.
