Here’s How the Cancel Culture Community Made Dave Chappelle Uncancelable

The Cancel Culture Community™ has tried time and time again to cancel comedian Dave Chappelle. Each time, they have failed miserably. Unfortunately for them, their attempts at ruining his career have fallen as flat as Vice President Kamala Harris doing a space video.

In this latest iteration of “Get Chappelle,” the hard left was all in a tizzy over his most recent Netflix special in which he doubled down on every joke he made about the LGBTQ community and rhetorically spat in the eye of the wokeist crowd. This time, they threw everything they could at the comedian, but to no avail.

But what is noteworthy about this episode is that not only did they fail to topple Chappelle from his lofty position as the world’s greatest comic, they ended up helping him. On Rotten Tomatoes, his latest special, titled “The Closer,” got a rating of 43% among critics. This is to be expected, given that most of these people are devout wokeists.

However, among regular viewers, most of whom have not accepted Karl Marx as their lord and savior, he received a 96% rating. The same happened with his other specials as well.

To put it simply, Dave Chappelle is uncancelable, and this is, in large part, due to the antics of the Cancel Culture Community™. In fact, the hard left has probably done more for Chappelle’s career than the movie “Half Baked,” which is one you should see if you haven’t already.

The reason why is simple.

Ever hear of the Streisand effect?

For those who don’t know, the Streisand effect occurs when an attempt to censor or conceal information or content results in increasing awareness of the material, thereby getting more people interested in viewing it. It is named after singer Barbra Streisand, who famously tried to prevent the California Coastal Records Project from photographing her home in Malibu, California, in 2003. Her efforts to suppress the pictures became public and prompted many to get images of her residence.

This is exactly what is happening with Dave Chappelle.

The church of wokeism is telling America that his special is terrible, bigoted, and mean and that they shouldn’t watch it. Indeed, they are vociferously urging Netflix to remove the performance from their service. They did the same with each of his previous specials.

Instead of obeying the edicts of the woke Sanhedrin, people flocked to see the special. They are still leaving positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

This is human nature, folks.

If you tell someone they can’t or shouldn’t do something, what is the typical reaction? That’s right. People will generally do what you’re telling them they shouldn’t.

Moreover, the constant vitriol thrown at Chappelle brings him even more attention. People get curious. They want to see what all the fuss is about. So they watch. And laugh.

The comedian has masterfully used this situation to appeal to his audience, most of whom can’t stand cancel culture. It was a form of judo, using his enemy’s offense against them and forcing them to play the game on his terms.

In “The Closer,” Chappelle took aim at the wokeists who attempted to link him to violence against transgenders and paint him as a homo/transphobe. He explained precisely where he was coming from and reiterated his point that he has no animus against members of the LGBTQ community. He brought up a good friend of his: A transgender woman named Daphne. He recalled the story of how he met her and eventually asked her to open for one of his shows.

His friend later killed herself after being pilloried on social media by the hard left.

In essence, he held up a mirror showing exactly how ugly the wokeists are. There is a reason that in almost none of the op-eds, broadcasts, or social media posts criticizing Chappelle do they so much as mention Daphne. He removed their masks and showed them to be monsters.

By going so hard against Chappelle, the wokeists gave him precisely what he needed to draw more attention to his special – and they have not yet learned their lesson. The comedian indicated this would be the last special in which he pokes fun at transgender people because he has said all he needed to say on the subject. But this will most definitely not be the last time he triggers the woke crowd.
