WATCH: Founder of First Black-Owned Stock Exchange Talk About Using Free Market to Empower Minority Entrepreneurs

I had the pleasure of interviewing Joe Cecala, lawyer and founder of the Dream Exchange, an organization that will be the very first black-owned stock exchange. In our conversation, we discussed his plans for starting this endeavor and the obstacles facing black entrepreneurs seeking funding.

During the interview, Cecala spoke about a novel type of stock exchange his group is looking to create and the legislation they are trying to get passed to facilitate this undertaking. The founder delivers keen insight on the changes to the stock market that have occurred over the past couple of decades.

Cecala’s project is a way to help more black and Hispanic entrepreneurs realize their dreams. He presents a better way to help minority-owned enterprises close the disparities in business ownership and increase their chances for success.
