Biden Is Still Too Scared To Answer Questions About Packing The Supreme Court And The Corporate Press Still Doesn’t Care

Former Vice President Joe Biden is trying desperately to avoid answering relevant questions about his stance on the debate raging about the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court. On Tuesday, during the first presidential debate, the moderator asked Biden whether he would pack the Supreme Court if elected. Predictably, he dodged the inquiry once again.

During the debate, moderator Chris Wallace from Fox News asked Biden if he would pack the courts if Trump proceeds with Barrett’s appointment before election day. Like Agent Smith dodging bullets in The Matrix, Biden pirouetted his way around the query. “Whatever position I take in that, that’ll become the issue,” he responded. “The issue is the American people should speak. You’re voting now. Vote, and let your senators know how you feel.”

But President Trump didn’t seem as willing as Wallace to let the former vice president off the hook for that blatant evasion. He pushed for an answer to the question until Biden snapped. “Would you shut up, man?” Biden seethed.

This is not the first time that the Democratic candidate has run from this question like Bill Clinton from his wife. In an interview with WBAY-TV in Wisconsin, the host asked about his position on packing the Supreme Court. Biden buckdanced once again and replied, “It’s a legitimate question, but let me tell you why I’m not going to answer. It will shift the focus.” He then blamed Trump for always distracting from the issue at hand, as Biden continued to distract from the issue at hand.

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), or as I affectionately refer to her, “Black Hillary,” also channeled Fred Astaire when confronted with the question. In a recent appearance on CNN, she was also asked about packing the Supreme Court. In a dance routine worthy of Janet Jackson, Black Hillary responded:

“So Joe has been really clear — let’s focus on what’s happening right now, deal with later, later, focus on what’s happening right now, which is the American people are voting. And they should be the ones to decide who will have the next lifetime appointment to the United States Supreme Court.”

She added, “Let’s not get distracted.”

Now, one would think that the press would become at least somewhat curious about the non-answers coming from the Biden camp on the Supreme Court. After all, the Democrats have threatened to add more seats to the court if they win the election in November, haven’t they?

Unfortunately, the corporate media seems conspicuously uninterested in this story. We already know why, right?

In an appearance on Fox News, Cornell Law School professor William A. Jacobson noted the absence of answers. “Biden’s refusal to comment on packing the Supreme Court, as other prominent Democrats are advocating, is monumental news as it goes to the Democrats’ willingness and desire to unwind one of the fundamental norms of our judiciary and political system, a 9-member Supreme Court,” he observed.

He continued, pointing out how things would be different if the shoe were on the other foot. “Had the roles been reversed, and Trump refused to comment on Republican plans to pack the Court, the New York Times and Washington Post would have screaming headlines,” Jacobson insisted. “The relative silence once again demonstrates that mainstream news coverage is focused on assisting the Biden campaign through what they don’t cover.”

Well, when you’re right, you’re right. If Trump had failed to answer a question with this level of importance, the Fourth Estate would be moaning and groaning about it all over the airwaves and on their front pages. But this is 2020, and hypocrisy reigns supreme, doesn’t it?
