The battle of sources in the White House continues. A report from Eli Lake surfaced yesterday saying things were not going well between national security adviser H.R. McMaster and President Donald Trump. The title reads “Washington Loves General McMaster, But Trump Doesn’t.”
Susan wrote about this yesterday and said:
If McMaster has a vision for a further reach into international territory, then he’s definitely going to clash with Bannon, who has gained loyalty from a large section of Trump’s base by being a strict nationalist.
The story gets far more interesting at this point. Joe Scarborough was on Twitter this morning and said the following:
Several WH sources say the Gen McMaster stories are coming from Bannon and are false. Trump has full confidence in McMaster. "He loves him."

Bill Kristol thought it amusing and said:
Entertaining Kushner v. Bannon proxy war going on via @JoeNBC vs. @EliLake. https://t.co/0SnqQv21S3

Joe responded:
Kushner wasn't one of my sources😐 https://t.co/bdjpKuN46O

So who to believe? It’s so hard to tell. Of course, Trumpers will say this is all part of an elaborate plan to “troll” the media. As I’ve stated on many occasions, Team Trump isn’t that talented. When something goes their way, they brag about it. When things go to crap, which is most often the case, they start bellowing about “fake news” and saying, “That isn’t what the President really meant.”
One of the best responses I saw in the midst of all back and forth is this:
It's hard to believe anyone connected to the WH. Everyone on Team DollHands lies like a rug.

That’s a good thing to keep in mind.
