During his press conference on Friday, President Obama addressed the allegations the Russians attempted to influence the 2016 presidential election by hacking the DNC and John Podesta’s email account. Obama said nothing happens without the approval of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and remarked he told Putin to “cut it out” when the two met in China.
South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham was not impressed. He tweeted the following in response to Obama’s remarks:
Clearly Putin was not impressed by Obama threat in September to cut it out or face consequences.

There would be no strong Putin without a weak Obama.

Graham even appeared to take a shot at former President George W. Bush with this tweet:
I hope President-elect Trump won’t become the 3rd American president to misjudge Vladmir Putin.

Graham is known for his advocacy of a tougher approach towards Russia. He favors Congressional hearings into the alleged hacking and has called for strong sanctions against Russia for a variety of reasons.
