Carly Fiorina's Face

It was Rolling Stone. Donald Trump’s campaign could have attacked the integrity of Rolling Stone. After all, look at the story the magazine made up about the University of Virginia.

According to Rolling Stone, Donald Trump said about Carly Fiorina:

“Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?” Trump reportedly bellowed while watching his Republican presidential rival on the news. “I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not s’posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?”

He could have attacked Rolling Stone. He could have denied it. Instead, his campaign decided not to comment.

When does Donald Trump’s campaign ever not comment? The fact that the campaign is refusing to comment is an admission against interest that he did say that.

Now think about that. He’s not taking issue with a rival’s positions. He’s not even taking issue with her tenure in corporate America. Instead, his reaction is to attack her because of her face. He then asked, “Are we serious?”

I think the better question is “is he serious?”

And now he’s doing exactly what he did with Megyn Kelly. He says he wasn’t talking about her face. He was talking about her personality.

There are an awful lot of willfully stupid people who will buy that. But I suspect there are less and less people who will.
