Fred Malek and John Boehner Declare War on Conservative Congressmen

The American Action Network claims to be a “conservative” group. It was started by prominent Republican, Fred Malek, who maintains close ties to the Establishment and was Finance Co-Chairman of [mc_name name=’Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’M000303′ ]’s 2008 Presidential campaign. It is run by Mike Shields, formerly of the National Republican Congressional Committee. Prior to Shields, Brian Walsh of the NRCC ran it. It was founded by [mc_name name=’Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’C001046′ ] and previously run by Rob Collins of Cantor’s office. Collins is now at the NRSC. Former Republican Senator Norm Coleman is Chairman of the Board.

The group operates as an outside entity for [mc_name name=’Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’B000589′ ]. On the same day even the establishment oriented Wall Street Journal editorial page is suggesting Boehner go, Fred Malek’s group has begun attacking conservative congressmen. Malek and the American Action Network want conservative congressmen to cave and fund Barack Obama’s executive amnesty plan.

In Georgia, they have already begun running ads against Congressmen Barry Loudermilk and Jody Hice. Loudermilk and Hice, who voted for Boehner as Speaker, are now being attacked by Speaker Boehner’s outside interests. [mc_name name=’Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’H001057′ ] of Kansas is in the same boat along with [mc_name name=’Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R-OK)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’B001283′ ] and [mc_name name=’Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’J000289′ ].

Fred Malek’s American Action Network, on behalf of [mc_name name=’Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’B000589′ ], claims that conservative congressmen are enabling terrorists to attack the United States because they do not want to fund President Obama’s executive amnesty plan.

This is how desperate [mc_name name=’Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’B000589′ ] is to keep his position and fund amnesty. He will use an outside group to attack congressmen who defied their campaign promises and wound up voting for him for Speaker. And he will do it because he is desperate to get the President’s amnesty agenda funded.

According to the Politico, “AAN has paid for two days of national radio advertisements that will run during conservative commentator Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh’s shows.”

The American Action Network is also using digital advertisements to pressure nine GOP members to vote for DHS funding. Those lawmakers include Reps. [mc_name name=’Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’L000573′ ] of Idaho, [mc_name name=’Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-VA)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’G000568′ ] of Virginia, [mc_name name=’Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’M001187′ ] of North Carolina, [mc_name name=’Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’Y000065′ ] of Florida, [mc_name name=’Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’G000552′ ] of Texas, [mc_name name=’Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-SC)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’M001182′ ] and [mc_name name=’Rep. Tom Rice (R-SC)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’R000597′ ] of South Carolina and Jody Hice and Barry Loudermilk of Georgia.

Here’s what you need to do. It is very simple. Call your member of Congress at 202-224-3121 and tell him/her to refuse to fund the Department of Homeland Security. More than 90% of the Department, including national security services, are considered essential functions of government and will not even shut down if DHS is left unfunded.
