Poor little Lee Fang. He felt the need to respond to the I Am the 53 stuff and, as he does with pretty much everything he writes, he gets a lot wrong.
The three jobs Erickson wants you to believe he scraps by on include occasional paid opinion blogging at RedState.com, a lucrative television contract with CNN, and a radio gig that paid the previous host $165,183 a year (Herman Cain’s financial disclosures show he was paid this amount before Erickson took over his spot). The house Erickson can’t sell? Bibb County, Georgia records reveal that Erickson just bought a new $374,900 house in February of this year, and owns another that, according to an estimate by the website Zillow, might be worth slightly less than the amount he paid for it in 2001. And its likely that Erickson’s CNN job alone provides him with a personal driver and covered travel expenses when he needs to appear on the show.
Let’s take this piece by piece:
The three jobs Erickson wants you to believe he scraps by on include occasional paid opinion blogging at RedState.com
Actually, it is a full time job, not an occasional paid thing. That’s why they call me “Editor.” By the way, it is “scrapes” not “scraps.” I “scrape by” or “scrape my knee”. Little Lee Fang “gets the scraps from George Soros‘s table.”
a lucrative television contract with CNN
Depends on what you would consider lucrative, though I sure as hell hope it will become very lucrative one day.
a radio gig that paid the previous host $165,183 a year (Herman Cain’s financial disclosures show he was paid this amount before Erickson took over his spot).
Holy cow Herman made that much!?!?! Well, he was Herman Cain, had been there a while, and was a rather prominent guy. I’m just the night time guy and definitely don’t make near that.
Now look at what Little Lee does:
The house Erickson can’t sell? Bibb County, Georgia records reveal that Erickson just bought a new $374,900 house in February of this year, and owns another that, according to an estimate by the website Zillow, might be worth slightly less than the amount he paid for it in 2001.
He wants you to fixate on the new house and ignore the old house. My wife and I bought it for $110,000.00 in March of 2001. It is appraised, for taxes, at $119,000.00. We’re having a tough time selling it. My student loans payments are more each month than the mortgage. But with the new house? It was originally for sale for over $600,000.00 and we benefited from the misery of others in the market downturn. It was tasty misery at that.
And then last?
And its likely that Erickson’s CNN job alone provides him with a personal driver and covered travel expenses when he needs to appear on the show.
Hahahahahahahahaha. No, not in the least. Grow up, Little Lee.
And for those of you who think I’m whining? I’m not whining. I work my butt off with three jobs, have a very nice house, and give to both my church and charity. Maybe instead of playing class warfare, you people should grow up and get a job — or start backing candidates who can get the government out of the way so the private sector can create them.
The “I Am the 53” has clearly hit a nerve with these people. They want to own the message of “the 99%,” but that would include many of us who look on at these pre-pubescent commies with humor and horror.
I pay taxes. I wish I paid less in taxes. But the reason I pay taxes is because I work pretty damn hard and am blessed with an awesome family and a great life. Maybe if Little Lee Fang got a real job he’d be more able to relate to the real world outside Soros subsidized think tanks.
