New Liberal Talking Point: Attorney General William Barr Is Lying to Americans

Ben Franklin was once asked what type of government the delegates had created. He replied, “A republic, if you can keep it.

The greatest existential threat to the United States comes not from Russia, China or North Korea, but from the Democrats. In deep denial over the findings of the Mueller investigation, they have adopted a new talking point.

“There are 300 pages in the Mueller Report and Attorney General William Barr reduced it to a four page summary. Barr is lying.”

Of course he is, they say. Why, he auditioned for the role last summer when he submitted a memo to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to explain the legal limits of obstruction.

Still reeling from the conclusion that Trump is not a traitor and did not obstruct justice, they’ve pivoted to a new narrative.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Nancy Pelosi called on Barr to release the full report. She said:

I have said and I’ll say again, no thank you, Mr. Attorney General. We do not need your interpretation. Show us the report and we can draw our own conclusions. We don’t need you interpreting for us.

It was condescending. It was arrogant. And it wasn’t the right thing to do. The sooner they can give us the information, the sooner we can all make a judgment about it.

Referring to Donald Trump, Jr’s infamous June 2016 Trump Tower meeting with Russians who promised “dirt” on Hillary Clinton, Pelosi said they were “delinquent in their responsibilities” because they had not contacted the FBI. She added, “If a foreign government comes to you and says they have information on your opponent … you take that right to the FBI. So for this report to say there was no acid cooperation, well if they didn’t bring the information to the FBI, they were delinquent in their responsibilities.”

What campaign wouldn’t take a meeting with someone who promised dirt on their opponent?

Hillary Clinton and the DNC took a more proactive approach; they paid $12 million to have dirt manufactured about their opponent.

The Wall Street Journal’s Kimberly Strassel calls the deniers “The Bitter Enders” in an editorial today. She writes:

But the Bitter Enders are having none of it. Liberal pundits and TV hosts now accuse Attorney General Bill Barr of a “coverup,” and meditate on the cosmic meaning of “exoneration.” Former FBI Director James Comey claimed on NBC that the Mueller report was deficient. Liberal legal analysts explained that Mr. Trump is still guilty of all kinds of counterintelligence sins outside Mr. Mueller’s jurisdiction.

Mrs. Pelosi’s bigger problem is her members. Michigan’s Rashida Tlaib responded to the Mueller report by introducing a resolution for impeachment. California’s Eric Swalwell went on air to insist—no kidding—that the debunked Steele dossier was “factual.” Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff—in response to a call by every committee Republican for his resignation—doubled down on his irresponsible claims, arguing that there is clear “evidence” of collusion.

Rush Limbaugh addressed the new liberal talking point on his radio show, on Fox News’ Special Report and again on Hannity. (Limbaugh’s fiery interview with Hannity begins at 25:42 in the video below.)

He argued that if Barr were lying, don’t you think that Mueller himself or one of his 17 angry Democrats, would have spoken up in the last five days? Would Barr, knowing that any lie could be so easily proven, risk his reputation or even going to jail to do the President’s bidding? Limbaugh said:

Mueller is not saying, “You’re right! You’re right. Barr is suppressing it. I found evidence! I found evidence that Trump is treasonous.” Mueller’s not doing that. What are the odds that the 300-plus pages prove and prove and prove and prove and prove and prove and prove and prove over again ad infinitum that Trump is not a traitor? How in the world does a rational person think that the attorney general is purposefully suppressing this evidence and lying to the American people about it because somewhere in those 300 pages is evidence Trump is a traitor?

But, because the Democrats themselves aren’t above behavior like that, they find it easy to believe that Republicans are equally corrupt.

For nearly three years, the President of the United States has been engulfed by a Deep State-created cloud of collusion. He has been investigated by the FBI, a 22 month-long Special Counsel composed of only Hillary Clinton supporters (and donors), a House Intelligence Committee probe and a Senate Judiciary Committee probe. No one has been able to find evidence that Trump colluded with the Russians to win the election.

Attempts by the left to reject their conclusions is a serious attack on the rule of law in America. If they aren’t thoroughly investigated and exposed, then America is no longer a republic. And Ben Franklin’s famous words will speak for themselves.
