Nadler Says Trump Obstructed Justice 1100 Times Alone By Calling Mueller Probe a Witch Hunt; Isn't the President Entitled to Freedom of Speech?

The repellent House Judiciary Committee Chairman, Jerrold Nadler, dominated the airwaves on Sunday with his announcement of yet a new investigation of President Trump. Appearing on ABC’s “This Week,” he said his committee would be sending out over 60 document requests on Monday to gather evidence against Trump for possible obstruction of justice, corruption and abuse of power charges.

I posted on this topic in detail here and here.

George Stephanopoulos asked Nadler if he believes the President obstructed justice and Nadler replied, “Yes, I do.”

Nadler said that Trump committed obstruction of justice “1,100 times” by referring to the Mueller investigation as a ‘witch hunt,’ by firing FBI Director James Comey and by asking Comey to drop the investigation of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

On Saturday, an anonymous House official told Bloomberg News lawmakers were concerned that Trump’s cries of “fake news” and calling the media “the enemy of the people” will “incite violence.”

Regardless of the fact that any objective person would look at the evidence for collusion and call this a witch hunt, and that the mainstream media is clearly in the tank with the Democrats, the President has the right to share his opinion. He is entitled to the right of free speech under the First Amendment just as any other American citizen.

I’ve often wondered whether Democrats actually believe what they say about Trump or if they know the entire narrative is fatuous, but consider it a convenient tool they can manipulate to remove him from office. In a recent editorial, The Wall Street Journal’s Holman Jenkins wrote that, “Rep. Adam Schiff has signaled that he intends to rake through Mr. Trump’s business and bank records searching for the motive for collusion crimes that exist only in his imagination.” Does Schiff believe the malicious rubbish he spews regularly on cable programs or does he know that it’s complete bull****? Perhaps it’s a little of each.

Either way, the President is first an American citizen and is entitled to all of the rights guaranteed under the US Constitution.

This issue has surfaced several times during Trump’s presidency, most memorably during the NFL’s Fall 2017 season. Colin Kaepernick’s decision to kneel during the national anthem to protest against police brutality and the inequality that people of color in the US face caught on. Although many of us found the practice unpatriotic – and infuriating, liberals argued that they were exercising their first amendment right under the Constitution. Yet, they condemned President Trump for exercising his right to do so when he criticized them.

What the Democrats are doing is partisan, transparent and astonishing. There are currently six House committees which have begun or are planning investigations into various aspects of Trump’s candidacy, presidency, prior business dealings and financial records. In other words, his entire life.

Nadler goes on television and sanctimoniously talks about his concern for the “rule of law.” Please.

Democrats are trampling all over President Trump’s rights. Rather than freedom and liberty, they are embracing tyranny.

As they say, the measure you give is the measure you’ll receive. And Democrats seem to have forgotten that the wheel is constantly turning. Trump must wait until Mueller submits his report to the Attorney General before unleashing his retaliation. Because the Democrats already know there will be nothing in it to justify impeachment, they have opened up another front.

Once the report is released, the gloves will come off and the President can finally deploy the most devastating weapon he has at his disposal. He can declassify documents which Republican lawmakers (Devin Nunes, Trey Gowdy and others) who have seen them say are devastating to the Democrats.

And it will be Republicans expressing their concern for the “rule of law” and Democrats who will be fighting for their Constitutional rights.
