An item of interest as we wait for the polls to close:
The language contained in the recently released Senate Judiciary Committee report sure seems to indicate that the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford is next on their agenda.
The Federalist’s Margot Cleveland wrote a piece entitled “7 Top Takeaways From Grassley’s Report On Brett Kavanaugh’s Accusers.” (If you haven’t yet read this article, I highly recommend it.) One question we have all been asking is, will the Committee question CBF about the inconsistencies which arose during her testimony?
The recently released 400 page document was merely a “status report” of the Committee’s investigation. The opening paragraph of the report says it:
provides a status update on the Committee’s ongoing efforts to review and address additional matters that arose during the course of the investigation, including potential violations of Senate rules, potential witness tampering, and potential false statements made to the Committee in violation of federal law.
Later it states:
Although the Senate confirmed Justice Kavanaugh on October 6, Committee investigators continue to pursue several issues related to the allegations against Justice Kavanaugh.
First, the report states that investigators will look into news reports that Ford’s childhood friend, Leland Keyser, had
felt pressure from Dr. Ford’s allies to revisit her initial statement to the Committee that she did not know Justice Kavanaugh or have any knowledge of the alleged incident.
According to media reports, former FBI employee Monica McLean, whom Dr. Ford allegedly coached in a polygraph exam years earlier, and others contacted her to suggest she ‘clarify’ her account. Committee investigators continue to pursue this lead to determine whether McLean or others tampered with a critical witness.
Committee investigators will refer for investigation by the Justice Department and FBI any potential violations of federal law, when warranted. These referrals will identify individuals who appear to have made materially false statements to the Committee or otherwise obstructed the Committee’s investigation in connection with allegations against Justice Kavanaugh.
Cleveland points out, “significantly, Grassley made these statements after the committee had already made criminal referrals for four individuals for knowingly making materially false statements to the committee.”
So far, a criminal referral has been submitted for Judy Munro-Leighton, who had once claimed to write the “Jane Doe from California” letter, which stated that Kavanaugh had once sexually abused her. She later admitted she had lied because she wanted to help “the movement.”
Two other referrals were made for Julia Swetnick, who claimed that Kavanaugh had been involved in “gang rape” parties and her lawyer, Michael Avenatti. Finally, the fourth referral went to “an individual from Rhode Island who emailed Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse claiming that Kavanaugh and Judge sexually assaulted a close acquaintance of his on a boat in Newport, Rhode Island. That individual later recanted.”
Who is there left to investigate other than CBF’s lifelong friend, and co-conspirator, Monica McLean, and the child-woman herself, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford? Cleveland writes:
Given that Grassley’s team already referred these cases to the DOJ and FBI, the “ongoing efforts” of the committee must refer to other individuals involved in the Kavanaugh affair. Although the memo mentioned McLean by name, it is unlikely that’s where this matter will end. Rather, McLean is likely the means to the end: the individual the investigators will pressure to reveal all she knows about Ford’s story and others involved in her eleventh-hour charges against Kavanaugh. Given the numerous inconsistencies highlighted in the report, Ford will likely come next.
Thus, the question will be whether, in the hopes of saving their own necks, McLean and Ford take down any congressional Democrats or staffers with them.
Think Dianne Feinstein!
All of these individuals perpetrated a grave injustice upon Justice Kavanaugh. In order to insure that this never happens again, people must be held accountable. They tried to destroy a man’s life and they nearly succeeded.

Note: One interesting item in the report refers to the accusations of one of Kavanaugh’s fellow Yale students, Deborah Ramirez, who claimed that Kavanaugh had “flashed his penis” in her face, when she was very drunk at a frat party.
Investigators identified a Yale student who was known to be a flasher. He was actually one of Kavanaugh’s fraternity brothers. This may have been the young man who “flashed his penis” in accuser Deborah Ramirez’. He is pictured in a group photo of the fraternity. He is the only one in the photo without pants.
