WikiLeaks Threatens Censor?
WikiLeaks define themselves,
Although no organization can hope to have a perfect record forever, thus far WikiLeaks has a perfect in document authentication and resistance to all censorship attempts. *emphasis mine.
Summarized, WikiLeaks released on Friday a boatload of DNC emails (covered expertly by RedState) sure to get not a few Democrat muckety-mucks on Santa’s naughty list.
What happened next is surreal.
Saturday Joy Reid, MSNBC host, tweeted:
Tomorrow on #AMJoy we’ll explore the unprecedented affinity between an American presidential candidate – Trump – Russia and Wilileaks [sic].
— Joy Reid (@JoyAnnReid) July 23, 2016 @11:43pm
Sunday early morning, WikiLeaks tweeted an overt warning to Ms. Reid:
@JoyAnnReid You are pushing a discredited conspiracy theory. There is no affinity, whatsoever. Our lawyers will monitor your program.
— WikiLeaks (@wikileaks) July 24, 2016 @ 1:57am
Sunday afternoon, Joy Reid responded:
Noted. cc @NBCNews@MSNBChttps://t.co/8Y1K9XuTPe

Granted, someone at the national news level should know to preface her public correspondence with “a possible,” or other cover-your-arse statement, but it’s pretty rich for an illegal hacking website to bristle at a news agency uncovering a possible (see what I did there?) cover up…this time by WikiLeaks. Curious.
Ms. Reid’s theory can be time-lined.
In April, the FBI, after conducting their own “cyber review” informed chairwoman Deb her beloved DNC was under cyber attack. By the time the Washington Post broke the story in June, CrowdStrike had been hired to mitigate the hack.
Shawn Henry, the firm’s president and a former FBI cyber chief, told MSNBC the intrusion was traced with “a high degree of confidence” to the Russian government.
CrowdStrike determined,
Russian hackers penetrated the Democratic National Committee’s computer network, stealing a raft of information including opposition research on presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.
A month later, a day after Trump’s Big Night and days before the start of the Democrat Convention, WikiLeaks vomits all over the DNC.
Ms. Reid concluding a link between, Trump, WikiLeaks and Russia is not a stretch.
Why does a self-proclaimed Super Hero, like WikiLeaks, a Big Bad Wolf of an organization who fights crime by exposing corruption, care that a MSNBC host has a theory?
Curious.
FBI Probe Vague
The FBI confirmed yesterday they are officially investigating the source of the DNC hack.
“The FBI is investigating a cyber intrusion involving the DNC and are working to determine the nature and scope of the matter,” the agency said in a statement. “A compromise of this nature is something we take very seriously, and the FBI will continue to investigate and hold accountable those who pose a threat in cyberspace.”
As noted above, the FBI has known about the alleged Russian hack for a year; they alerted the DNC! So, what exactly are they investigating?
Russia Dupes IOC on Doping
The International Olympic Committee gave Russia a pass this week when they chose not to issue a total ban of Russia’s athletes from the 2016 Rio Olympics even after they received confirmation of a multi-sport state-sponsored doping scheme.
Although Russia was spared the embarrassment of a complete shut out, the IOC has deferred judgement to sport specific committees. Ten days before the opening ceremony, a few members from the swimming and rowing team have been told to hang up their flippers and fly back to mother Russia.
Seven Russian swimmers and three rowers have been banned from competing at the Rio Olympic Games by their sports’ governing bodies.
Russia sure doesn’t have a problem doping their athletes effectively “rigging the system.” I wonder what Donald Trump thinks about his pal Putin.
“Ta Ta,” for now, RedStaters. It’s the second day of the Democrat’s convention and it’s WaterCooler, Tuesday!! What did you think about the crying Bernies? Well, you can pick your own topics. Don’t need me ’cause it’s also Open Thread Tuesday! Enjoy.
