Klobuchar Questioned Kavanaugh's Temperament, Now She's Accused Of Abuse By Former Staffers

Chickens are coming home to roost early in the 2020 Democratic primary. It’s a crowded field already and MN Senator Amy Klobuchar is expected to toss her hat in the ring when she makes a “major announcement” on Sunday. But, her kickoff is quickly turning into a nightmare for the liberal Senator as her former staffers back up the bus on her for being a horrible boss.

Klobuchar has been accused of running her office in a power hungry and emotionally abusive and demeaning manner. The Senator, who was praised for questioning the temperament of Brett Kavanaugh in his Senate Judiciary hearing, apparently thrives on being one of the worst bosses on Capitol Hill.

Her behavior is so legendary that in 2015 Harry Reid rebuked her for it. Four of the presidential hopeful’s former staffers spoke with Buzzfeed News about their former boss. It’s not pretty.

That anger regularly left employees in tears, four former staffers said. She yelled, threw papers, and sometimes even hurled objects; one aide was accidentally hit with a flying binder, according to someone who saw it happen, though the staffer said the senator did not intend to hit anyone with the binder when she threw it.

“I cried. I cried, like, all the time,” said one former staffer.

In the emails seen by BuzzFeed, often sent between 1 and 4 in the morning, Klobuchar regularly berated employees, often in all capital letters, over minor mistakes, misunderstandings, and misplaced commas. Klobuchar, in the emails, which were mostly sent over the past few years, referred to her staff’s work as “the worst in … years,” and “the worst in my life.”

Klobuchar peppered Kavanaugh with questions about blacking out when he was in high school. His entire family had been dragged through the mud by that point and he turned the tables on Klobuchar by asking her if she had ever blacked out before. The Senator then questioned Kavanaugh’s temperament. Kind of ironic that she is the one who appears to be the one with a serious temperament issue.

The paper trail about Klobuchar’s rage issues goes back years. Huffington Post is reporting that during her 2006 campaign, an AFSCME leader wrote about her reputation.

“Klobuchar had “created a hostile work environment” and “severely damaged the morale of the office,” wrote James Appleby, the president of the local. The letter claimed that grievances to the union increased under Klobuchar’s tenure and that Klobuchar once told her own employees they weren’t competent enough to work at her former law firm. It also claimed the local had asked the union to withhold its endorsement for her county attorney bid in 2002.

Other Democrats must want her out of the way in 2020, so her skeletons are being dragged out of the closet now. How convenient that we didn’t know this when this hypocrite was being hailed as a hero on the left for questioning Brett Kavanaugh’s temperament.

A crowded Democratic primary could leave some serious wounds on these candidates. Wounds that could ruin their reputations and eventually cause them to lose their current seats.
