Trump folds to Pelosi on SOTU address

A few minutes ago, Trump tweeted that he would not be seeking an alternative venue to hold the SOTU. Personally, I’m a bit disappointed as I was hoping he’d use the opportunity to ratchet up the heat on Pelosi and the Dems on the shutdown as well as put on a rally for a national audience.

….alternative venue for the SOTU Address because there is no venue that can compete with the history, tradition and importance of the House Chamber. I look forward to giving a “great” State of the Union Address in the near future!

Given how tough he was acting on this issue, this may not bode well for his shutdown negotiations.  Pelosi has to smell blood in the water if he rolled so easily on this.
