As the impeachment process continues unabated by unhinged sore-losing Democrats in Congress, Hollywood weirdos are jumping on the bandwagon in a campaign called the Impeachment Task Force.  This gaggle of misfits was assembled by Scott Dworkin.

This pudgy political operative is well-known in Democrat circles.  He is a co-founder of the Democratic Coalition and was a NeverTrump resistance fighter well before Trump’s inauguration.  He is a big Biden supporter and served as the Deputy Director of the 2009 Inauguration Committee.  He was also a Deputy Director of the 2012 Democrat Convention and a senior advisor on the Draft Biden campaign.  Regularly appearing on MSNBC, he was a key propagator of the Russian collusion hoax until Robert Mueller blew the air out of that balloon.

The main purpose of this “task force” is to draw attention away from vulnerable Democrats in key Congressional districts that Trump won in 2016.  Trump has made no secret of his desire to put these Democrats on the record for impeachment in an effort to unseat them in 2020.  Trump realizes that when it comes to impeachment, there is no there “there” other than resistance and/or hatred of Trump.  Not liking a man, his policies or the fact he won an election fair and square is not a “high crime and misdemeanor.”  In any other country, it is called a coup, but in this country, to Democrats, it is righteousness and to the NeverTrumpers, it is “muh principles.”

The purpose of this “task force” is to up the ante on social media through a continuous onslaught of statements vilifying Trump and his policies.  The mainstream media will then take notice, report on the attacks and present it all as “unbiased news.”  This will then give some cover to those vulnerable Democrats in Congress so the theory goes.

By now, you can likely guess some of the task force members.  There are the unhinged Rosie O’Donnell, Ron Perlman, George Takei, Debra Messing, and everyone’s favorite childhood star not named Ricky Schroeder, Alyssa Milano.  Milano, in particular, should send a bow-wrapped “thank you” card to Trump for making her somewhat relevant again, even if that relevancy is unwarranted other than pointing out her stupidity or mental derangement.  Meanwhile, O’Donnell is apparently taking a vacation from the fat farm while Takei obviously has a shortage of Star Trek conventions to attend.

Others on the task force reportedly include a couple of authors, former tennis star Martina Navratilova, former Tallahassee mayor Andrew Gillum, a few former FBI agents and federal prosecutors (supposedly to add some gravitas to the effort) and gun control activist Fred Guttenberg probably praying for a mass shooting so that he can tweet something laying the blame at the feet of Trump.

Milano is particularly active and has assumed her responsibilities and sense of self-serving relevancy by equating whistleblowers in the administration with women who have accused Trump of sexual improprieties in his past.  Debra Messing did her best Joe McCarthy imitation by trying to blacklist Hollywood personalities who show even a modicum of support for Trump by denying them any work.  Actually, McCarthy’s actions were nobler than those of Messing.

Less a task force and more a smear campaign, Dworkin hopes to recruit more than 100 Hollyweirdos and 1,000 activists of various stripes ranging from Hillary Clinton supporters to immigration activists.  They all have one thing in common: they are disgruntled that Trump is indeed the President of the United States.

Dworkin and his band of has-been oddballs have fallen under the disturbing pattern of allowing hatred to overcome commonsense.  Does a housewife in Indiana really care what the hell Alyssa Milano thinks or says?  Does the plumber in Michigan really know who Debra Messing is let alone care about what she thinks?  Perhaps the factory worker in Ohio has seen A League of Their Own and recognizes Rosie O’Donnell, but do they pay much attention to her political beliefs?

Perhaps at one time, the public at large and especially Middle America looked to and respected Hollywood stars.  In this case, we are not even talking about stars.  Regardless, those days are long gone as Hollywood has descended into a cesspool of Trump derangement and hatred.

Dworkin has given his marching orders.  Maybe he knows this effort will fall on deaf ears which is why he acknowledged that “Trump’s propaganda machine will be in overdrive.”  He is calling for the resistance propaganda machine to go into super-overdrive.  Yet in the end, people are more likely to listen to the President than they are to has-been Hollywood personalities and activists not known outside their own echo chambers.

Democrats, Leftist activists, Hollyweirdos and NeverTrumpers care less about facts and more about a slick propaganda campaign likely doomed to failure.  The voting public is (hopefully) smarter than Dworkin and a thousand Hollywood stars could ever hope to be.  This campaign is like a large-budget special effect production.

But special effects are fake.  They are not reality.  The reality is that the country seems to be doing just fine with Donald Trump as President by whatever metric one wants to use.  So, rant on and make fools of yourself, Hollywood.  Better yet, take one-eighth of that hatred of Trump and dedicate it to making a better choice of a script the next time the opportunity presents itself.  That would be doing America a favor.
