Racism is the New Russia

One cannot keep up with what the Left and Democrats believe is the biggest problem facing America today.  Depending on the latest current event or day of the week, it can be climate change, Republicans killing Americans by denying them affordable health care, the dastardly Russians, or- now- white supremacy.  In 2018, as in every year, Gallup polls Americans to find out what they think is America’s most pressing problem.  Guess what?  White supremacy or even racism did not register any concerns.  Instead, the economy, health care, and immigration came in first through third.  Those other concerns of Democrats- climate change and Russia- came in 11th and 12th.

And there is the problem for the Democrats and the Left in a nutshell.  They are a movement and a party without a coherent message.  What they have is the wet dream of impeachment, but for what we do not know.  Robert Mueller, who was raised to saintly status on the Left, took a dump on the Russian collusion narrative.  Instead, we now have the Nadler/Schiff obsession with obstruction of justice meme.  A few weeks ago, the media was awash in stories about 100 Democrats now calling for impeachment.  It isn’t going to rise much higher.  Not even able to gain any traction in this area, the great pivot has occurred: Trump is a racist.

To be called a racist is one of the biggest insults one can suffer.  But the Left and Democrats have invoked the charge so often throughout the years that it has become like the use of the “F” word.  People become immune to accusations and charges.  And the Democrats have doubled down on this strategy.  Joe Biden thinks Trump is worse than a racist (whatever that is).  Bernie Sanders said:

We have a president who actively demonizes racial and religious minorities, who coddles Nazis and Klansmen, and who wields white supremacy as a political weapon…

Elizabeth Warren said Trump gives a “wink and a nod” to white supremacists.  Beta O’Rourke pens silly articles accusing Trump of racism and white supremacism to again reboot his failing campaign.

And the definition of racism is constantly changing.  Saying parts of a Congressional district are “rat-infested” is now a racist term despite the presence of rat infestation.  Telling big-mouth, ignorant Congresswomen to “go back where you came from” is now racist.  “Where they came from” are large, crime-ridden urban areas- Minneapolis, the Bronx, Boston, and Detroit.

After the shooting in El Paso, President Trump visited the city.  He and Melania were photographed holding a child who lost his parents in the melee.  A writer for the New York Times described the photo as “sickening.”  He compared it to one of Obama who leaned down to let a black child feel his hair in the Oval Office, a photo described in that article as “totemic.”  The Left and Democrats still have a disturbing infatuation with Obama as if he was the great healer of racial division in the country.  If racial division still exists as the Left and Democrats claim, then Obama was not such a great “healer.”

Regardless, Democrats and the Left are flailing about by fanning the flames of racial division.  It has been on page one of their playbook since the 1970s.  They ignore the facts that Democrats were the ones who erected and enforced Jim Crow laws.  The KKK was the militant arm of the Democrat Party for years.  They continue to believe social welfare programs that enslave poor minorities to the government are the answers to every social ill.  They insist on keeping poor minorities on the public education plantation and denying them the choice rich white kids take as their birthright.

It is sad that outlets like MSNBC would even give a voice to anyone who would suggest that Trump is engaged in some Hitlerian numerology.  This is a mainstream media source that encouraged people to show up with pitchforks and torches outside the home of a Trump donor.  Richard Engel, an NBC correspondent suggested that recession was preferable to another Trump term “to save the Constitution.”  Others have described Trump supporters as “terrorists” or complicit in white supremacy, when not outright being called racist.

One of the most memorable lines from 2016 was uttered by Hillary Clinton:

You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?  The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.

Today, being called racist because you voted for, currently support, or are even a fence-sitter when it comes to Trump is akin to deplorable on steroids.  In 2016, roughly 63 million Americans voted for Trump.  According to Clinton’s formula, 31.5 million were deplorable.  Under the new vision touted by the Democrats, roughly 63 million Americans have now branded racist.

During that campaign, Trump famously stated he could shoot someone in a very public area and still not lose voters.  Today, Trump could stand in the middle of Times square and kiss the bare asses of Shaun King, Don Lemon, Al Sharpton, and Elijah Cummings and still be branded a racist.

It is a sad commentary on the state of the Democrats today.  Devoid of any ideas to meet the true concerns of American voters, they have resorted to charges of racism at every turn.  If this is the best they have to offer in 2020, then Trump should have no problem winning a second term.  If voting for Trump in 2020 is “racist,” then I guess that makes me a racist.  Thankfully, the word has been used so much that it has lost any meaning.
