The Democrat's David Duke

Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders have endorsed him.  On the Left there are orgasms galore as it appears that Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison has the inside track for DNC Chairman to replace the now disgraced Donna Brazile who replaced the disgraced Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.  And just who is Keith Ellison?

In 2006, he became the first Muslim elected to the House of Representatives hailing from a very liberal Minnesota congressional district.  In that race, he  received a pass when it came to any scrutiny from the press because he was… well, black and a Muslim.  How progressive of Minnesota Democrats!

During that congressional race, Ellison played down his membership and involvement with the Nation of Islam which is a designated hate group by both the Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).  You know…the two organizations that are spreading fear about Steve Bannon in the Trump administration even though Bannon has never actually belonged to any designated hate group.  Ellison claimed to have only an 18-month association with the group when facts indicate otherwise.  Even more ludicrous was his assertion that he was unaware the Nation of Islam was anti-Semitic.

However, as early as 1989 while a law student, he wrote articles which defended Louis Farrakhan.  He wrote his article under an alias- Keith E. Hakim.  In a 1990 article under the same alias, he complains of “brutal white savagery” and called for a separate black state to be composed of Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia and Mississippi.

It may be easy to dismiss these rants as the musings of a radical leftist law student, but his actions and words showed no letting up after he left law school.  He defended a woman who allegedly claimed that “Jews were the most racist white people.”  Although the woman herself disavowed the statement, Ellison did not.  This was not a free speech case he was defending for a woman who denied making the remarks.  He stated: “We stand by the truth in the woman’s remarks…It is also true that merchants in black areas treat black customers badly.”

Decades before Black Lives Matter, Ellison was a very prominent defender of cop killers associating with Sharif Willis after the murder of a Minneapolis police officer.  Willis was with the Vice Lords, a black Muslim gang and one of the largest in the country.  He participated in demonstrations on behalf of the Vice Lords and attended a national gang confab.   In 2000, he called for the release of Kathleen Soliah of the Symbionese Liberation Army and heaped praise on Mumia Abu-Jamal and Assata Shakur- two notorious cop killers.

After September 11th, he compared the attack on the World Trade Center to the burning of the Reichstag in 1933.  He agreed with an audience member at that speech who said that Jews gained the most from the 9/11 attacks.  Seems that 9/11 conspiracy theorists are not unique to the alt-right.

After being elected to Congress, four Republican members of the House sought an investigation into allegations that CAIR- the Council on American Islamic Relations- tried to infiltrate congressional staffs of members on the House intelligence, defense and homeland security committees.  This request was based on internal CAIR documents.  Said Ellison on the floor of the House summoning his indignation and relying upon that old Leftist stand-by accusation- McCarthyism:

These charges smack of an America 60 years ago where lists of ‘un-American’ agitators were identified.  The idea that we should investigate Muslim interns as spies is a blow to the very principle of religious freedom that our Founding Fathers cherished so dearly. If anything, we should be encouraging all Americans to take part in the U.S. political process.

Of course, history has proven that McCarthy largely had it right.

Islamic terrorism being the fault of America is a constant theme in Ellison’s rants.  He has intimated that the cause of radical Islam in the US is the result of a lack of social, economic and political opportunity.  In remarks at a White House meeting on terrorism, he proved that he is a graduate of the Marie Harf “jobs for terrorists” school of thought.  Summoning his inner Obama, he claimed that Islamic terrorism is on par with Christian or Jewish atrocities.

His association with CAIR- an unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorist funding scheme using a charity as a front- is well-documented.  He has received many donations from the group and attended many of their meetings.  He has sung their praises, not distanced himself from them.

To illustrate his apparent anti-Semitism, in 2012 he flew halfway across the country to speak out against fellow Democratic Congressman Steve Rothman in New Jersey who was in a bitter primary battle at the time.  Rothman was one of the most pro-Israel Congressmen in the House.  In 2016 on a trip to Israel and the West Bank, he tweeted a picture of a sign that equated Israel with apartheid South Africa apparently endorsing the idea.  At the DNC convention in Philadelphia, he was keynote speaker at an event held by the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, an organization deep in the BDS movement.  He was placed on the Platform Committee that adopted language more antagonistic towards Israel.

The Left is great at accusing the Right of dog-whistle statements when it comes to race.  But when it comes to them, they are apparently immune to the same criticism.  It’s no longer appropriate to call Jews “bloodsuckers” or to deny the Holocaust; instead today the Left illustrates their anti-Semitism through their attacks on the Israeli state.

It is obvious that Keith Ellison openly associated with an anti-Semitic group (the Nation of Islam), has received political donations from groups associated with Islamic terrorism, and has been a vocal apologist for terrorism and cop killers.  Only when it became politically inconvenient did he ever “apologize” and to add insult to injury, he lied about his associations.  But, don’t look behind that curtain, Dorothy.  That makes you a racist and xenophobe.  Instead, the real threat is 200 people at a DC restaurant and Steve Bannon, according to the Left.

This is the man who may likely lead the Democratic National Committee and, along with Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, will become the faces and voices of the Democratic Party.  If their goal is to further alienate voters who abandoned Clinton in 2016, then they could not have done a better job.  As a conservative Republican, I look forward to Keith Ellison’s tenure as head of the DNC.

As we hold Ellison’s feet to the fire, let us not concentrate on his swearing-in on the Quran, but rather his racist, anti-Semitic past and associations.  Make it be known that Ellison belonged to a designated hate group, much as David Duke belonged to the KKK because qualitatively, there is no difference between David Duke and Keith Ellison.
