Prosecuting (Just) Process Crimes is Wrong.
Doubtless you’ve seen the report by CNBC and other outlets regarding Obama Administration Official, Gregory Craig being indicted by the Justice Department. From CNBC
Gregory Craig, who was White House counsel under President Barack Obama, was indicted Thursday on charges of lying and hiding information related to his work for Ukraine.
Craig, a 74-year-old lawyer based in Washington, D.C., was charged by the Justice Department’s Foreign Agents Registration Act, or FARA, unit. Craig faces up to five years in prison for each of the two counts.
The charges stem from the federal investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election led by special counsel Robert Mueller, which came to a formal end last month.

Like most conservatives, I will admit to a bit (OK, onehelluvalot) of Schadenfreude. Yeah Buddy! Let’s see some leftists on the griddle for once. However, some days I can be the Black Sheep of Red State. This might be one of them. My position is, if DOJ/FBI cannot manage to successfully prosecute Mr Craig on a primary crime, then they should leave him the hell alone. None of this “Obstruction” or “Lying to the FBI”—unless it’s an enhancer and specifically to the aforementioned primary crime that they are also prosecuting him on.
Back when I was shoving a patrol car around St Lucie County, FL, we had a little saying we used for an arrest made, but not on a primary crime, “P.O.P. or (P****ng Off the Po-Lice).” Usually the report read, “Resisting Arrest-Without Violence.” Some of us, had another name for that: “Shoddy Police Work.”
This is the same thing I see going on at DOJ/FBI. After almost two years, TWO YEARS, all Mr Mueller has to show for it, are a couple of convictions on crimes totally unrelated to the Russia aspect of his
investigation persecution, indictments of a few Russians who will never see the inside of a courtroom and not one, NOT ONE indictment, much less conviction of any American for unlawful collusion with the Russians in their “interference” with the U.S. Presidential Election of 2016.
All Mr Mueller was able to obtain, were a number of “process crime” convictions. All he did, was get a few P.O.P. arrests; basically, shoddy police work. Our side doesn’t need to go down that road. When we nail a leftist, we need to nail him/her for real, no-kiddin’ crimes. For example, we need to nail Secretary Clinton and her team for (as I’ve described here) the malicious and deliberate crimes of subverting the protocols, procedures and systems put in place to protect classified information.
We don’t do process crimes. those are for leftists.
