Super Tuesday II Deja Vu
After the last Super Tuesday on March 1st, Bush and Carson finally threw in the towel when they realized they had no way to win the nomination. Will two candidates quit after tonight if they lose their home states?
Kasich has portrayed himself as the candidate of lightness, whatever that means. But it should mean that he’s a man that keeps his promises and will drop out if he loses Ohio. Yet he’s confident he’ll win there and be the eventual nominee. Lightness descends into craziness. But if he wins, then Kasich will become the new Rubio and continue to split the vote.
Rubio has promised to go onto to Utah, even if he loses FL. Playing a spoiler this late in the game is just plain selfish even if the contest ends up getting brokered at the convention.
Chaos in Cleveland
The chances of a brokered convention may increase dramatically if tonight’s delegates are scattered about and no clear winner emerges. There is no doubt in my mind that the GOP-E will insist on Kasich and maybe even Rubio stay in the race to prevent Trump and Cruz from getting to 1,237 delegates. Will the people be more receptive to Rubio or Kasich as opposed to parachuting in someone like Romney or Bush?

This falls into the people in glass houses shouldn’t throw rocks category or as I like to say, ain’t that rich. Well he did seem to include himself in the mix, but just barely.
“Too often we’ve accepted this as somehow the new normal. And it’s worth asking ourselves what each of us may have done to contribute to this vicious atmosphere in our politics,” Obama told the gathering of lawmakers and foreign dignitaries, noting that other politicians surely have remarks they regret, as he does.
“And while some may be more to blame than others for the current climate, all of us are responsible for reversing it. For it is a cycle that is not an accurate reflection of America. And it has to stop.”
In the bipartisan spirit of the event, Obama even snuck in a pitch for members of Congress to consider his nominee for the Supreme Court, despite Republicans’ promise to not consider anyone his puts forth.
“While I may not possess the persuasive power of St. Patrick, I do hope the hospitality extended here today is similarly extended to my nominee to the Supreme Court when he or she arrives,” the president said with a grin.
Communist Cuba
Meanwhile, while we watch and participate in our democratic process of electing a new president, the current one has made it a priority to unclench his fist to Communist Cuba, without conditions.
Treasury and the Commerce department have lifted travel restrictions that allow individuals to fly there as opposed to groups and also many banking restrictions.
“Today’s steps build on the actions of the last 15 months as we continue to break down economic barriers, empower the Cuban people and advance their financial freedoms, and chart a new course in U.S.-Cuba relations,” Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew said in a statement.
Now if what Sec. Lew said was true then this could have a positive outcome. However, without insisting on any changes to human rights violations or even getting the NJ cop killer back is just another one-sided deal like Iran: they get everything, we get nothing. And this comes just five days before Obama visits Cuba, marking the first visit by a sitting president since 1928 when Calvin Coolidge was in office. What a slap in the face to two of our candidates.

In perfect form for Democrats, the EPA says that they did nothing wrong in Flint, MI. They are not responsible for clean water apparently but want to regulate the mud puddle in your back yard.
Did you know that your taxpayer dollars helped fund the protests in Chicago? La Raza receives federal funding and was just one of a plethora of groups that are proud to claim their victory in shutting down the Trump event.
Oh Bernie! There you go stereotyping again. Seems someone at a townhall event asked Bernie a question about the Trump rhetoric and here’s what happened:
“For a start, we understand that unlike Trump, what America’s strength has been, and it’s an extraordinary strength, is bringing our people together.”
Then things got a bit awkward.
“I’m Jewish. You’re Muslim,” Sanders said, pointing at the questioner, who shook his head.
“We have–you’re,” Sanders started.
“Hindu,” the man said.
“You’re Hindu. There you go, all right,” Sanders said, recovering. “But that’s what America is, and we’ve got Muslims here, and we’ve got Latinos here. What an extraordinary opportunity. We’ve got African Americans. All coming from different cultures, helping to create this great country and learning from each other.”
