NBC Republican Debate Nixed

On Monday, the RNC Debate Committee voted and concluded that they would sever their relationship with NBC and cancel the Feb. 26 debate that was scheduled. The decision was based upon the mockery CNBC made of our candidates when they hosted a debate last year. Seems our own Erick Erickson disagrees with the decision.

Tavis Smiley is Frowning on Obama

Oh look, another Democrat commits a gaffe and tells the truth. Yes, ultra-liberal Tavis Smiley is not happy with Obama’s lack of assistance for blacks, well that’s an understatement:

PBS host Tavis Smiley acknowledges that he, and others, got “so caught up in the symbolism of the Obama presidency,” that they didn’t press as hard as they should have on issues that are important to the black community.

“Sadly, and it pains me to say this, over the last decade black folk, in the era of Obama have lost ground in every major economic category,” Smiley said Friday in an interview with Huffington Post. “Not one, two or three [categories], but every major economic category, black americans have lost ground”

 Trump is Like Nixon?

Just when you think you’ve heard all the reasons for Trump’s popularity, we get a new one from Doug Schoen, a longtime Democratic strategist. I must say that he and Pat Caddell have been predicting a revolution in the Republican Party for a couple of years now and they were right. Schoen’s new book, “The Nixon Effect” compares the rise of Trump to Nixon:

Donald Trump’s surge is being fueled by a huge “silent majority,” the same group of influential voters that swept Richard M. Nixon to reelection in the biggest blowout win in U.S. history, according to the author of a remarkable new biography.

Democratic strategist Douglas E. Schoen’s “The Nixon Effect,” which makes the case that the disgraced former president was “the most important American politician of the postwar era,” declares that Trump could ride the 1972 Nixon model to the Oval Office.

“He is the living expression of the silent majority,” Schoen wrote. “He’s a political force. He has upended our politics. If you don’t believe me, ask Jeb Bush,” penned Schoen.

And there’s more odd news…

Politico thinks Trump would beat Hillary by winning over black voters, headline:

“How Donald Trump defeats Hillary Clinton, Obama’s black supporters are crucial to a Trump win, and pollsters say he has a chance with this bloc.”

…..Shrinking Democrats’ edge with black voters is just one of the counterintuitive wrinkles to the scenario in which Trump stuns the world and wins the White House. His path also includes playing the gender card against Clinton, a Karl Rovian gambit to turn his opponent’s strength — her feminist appeal — into a weakness.

And really odd and a stupid move that could be replayed…

Politico Headline, Clinton makes a rare admission: ‘Trump’s right’

Hillary Clinton on Friday waded into the nasty feud between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz — and agreed with Trump.

“Just this once, Trump’s right: New Yorkers value hard work, diversity, tolerance, resilience, and building better lives for our families. –H” the former secretary of state tweeted Friday.

But we already knew she’s not very smart…

Hillary has based her entire campaign on being a woman and supporting abortion on demand. The combination of the two may just be the political backfire that will sink her chances of becoming the first woman president…one can hope:

Poll: 80% Disagree with Hillary Clinton’s Abortion Position; 2 out of 3 pro-choicers approve of some restrictions
