Masters won the primary with 40.2 percent of the vote, with Lamon in second place with 28.1 percent, according to the Associated Press.

“We all have to stand united,” Lamon said. “Just like Marxists do.”

”We might not all agree on everything, but we can all agree that our country needs us,” he continued.

“I stand full square by Blake,” he added, and said he’ll be making a maximum donation to him.

Shortly after Lamon finished his remarks, the Masters campaign announced the endorsement on Twitter.

Masters also spoke, commenting on numerous issues and taking questions from the crowd.

He said that Social Security “benefits need to be increased, not taxed,” and that any accusation that he wants to scrap Social Security is “fake.”

In addition, Masters said he would not back Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for majority leader if the party wins back control of the Senate in November.

”I think Mitch McConnell wants me to win, but not that badly,” Masters said. Masters hinted that he would back the most “America First” candidate–or just not vote.

Masters earned former President Donald Trump’s endorsement in June:
