President Donald J. Trump tweeted a warning to the illegal alien invasion caravans yesterday, “Our military is being mobilized at the Southern Border. Many more troops coming. We will NOT let these Caravans, which are also made up of some very bad thugs and gang members, into the U.S. Our Border is sacred, must come in legally. TURN AROUND!”

The President also told reporters on the South Lawn of the White House that as many as 15,000 military personnel will be deployed to the southern border:

“As far as the caravan is concerned, our military is out. We have about 5,000. We’ll go up to anywhere between 10 and 15,000 military personnel on top of Border Patrol, ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] and everybody else at the border.”

Trump-hating Democrats and the biased media wing of the Democrats’ Party call the deployment a “political stunt.”

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis pushed back on the suggestion that the deployment of thousands of active-duty troops to the Southwest border is a political stunt saying, “We don’t do stunts in this department.”

Then Axios tried to disparage the defense of the border by pointing out that 5,200 troops is more than we now have deployed in Iraq and Syria. The Washington Post also chimed in “reporting” that  if the deployment to the border reaches 15,000 troops, “it would be roughly equivalent to the size of the U.S. military’s presence in Afghanistan and three times the size of the presence in Iraq.” As if that is a bad thing.

It isn’t a bad thing to defend the border. It’s way past time to control the border stop the never-ending flood of illegals entering the country at will.
