Members of the illegal alien invasion caravan made their way north through Mexico Monday. Mexican police, who failed to stop them at Mexico’s border with Guatemala, now escort the caravan as it moves relentlessly north toward the U.S.

New estimates cited by El Universal, a Mexican newspaper, say the caravan is now 14,000 strong. According to the Washington Times, some in the invasion caravan are looking for work, which makes them illegal immigrants — not asylum-seekers.

President Donald J. Trump has threatened to use the military to stop the invasion. On Sunday President Trump said the U.S. will “turn away” the illegal alien invasion caravan.

President Trump has the authority to stop the entry of ALL aliens into the United States. Title 8, United States Code §1182(f) gives the president the power “to suspend the entry of all aliens” whenever he finds their entry “would be detrimental to the interests of the United States.

As former federal prosecutor Sidney Powell writes at The Daily Caller:

The Supreme Court recently affirmed this power of the President in Trump v. Hawaii. The Court was very clear: “The sole prerequisite set forth in 8 U.S.C. §1182(f) is that the President ‘find’ that the entry of the covered aliens ‘would be detrimental to the interests of the United States.’”

The Court specifically noted the “broad statutory text and the deference traditionally accorded the President in this sphere.”

The president can “suspend the entry of all aliens.”

While the plain language of the statute is so clear that the president need not even give reasons, there are countless reasons to stop all immigration right now.

The illegal immigrant invasion caravan has already demonstrated it is a violent mob. The mob broke through the Guatemalan border gate and beat Mexican police:

A recent Yale-MIT study revealed there are at least 22 million illegal aliens in the U.S. — double the number of previous estimates. It’s long past time to put an end to illegal immigration into the U.S.

It’s way past time that we control our border.  If it requires closing the border, so be it.
