On Monday, a shooting occurred inside a business near Pavilion Center Drive and Charleston Boulevard in Las Vegas, prompting a response from multiple emergency vehicles and a closure of roads in the area.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to the call at 10:04 a.m. and described the situation as a "dynamic event," posting updates on social media. Just before noon, LVMPD posted an update indicating that Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill announced that the shooter was deceased and there was no longer a threat to the community, writing:
UPDATE 11:56 pm: per @Sheriff_LVMPD the shooter is deceased. There is no active threat to public safety.
UPDATE: All roads near Charleston Blvd. and Pavilion Center Dr. are closed. This includes Charleston Blvd. in both directions from Red Rock Dr. past Pavilion Center Dr. Avoid Area

Schools in the vicinity were briefly placed on a soft lockdown as a precaution.
Police provided additional updates indicating that, per Sheriff McMahill, the shooting occurred at a law office inside a multi-story office building. The incident left three people dead, including two victims and the shooter, due to what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot. LVMPD states that the motive and the relationships between the victim and the assailant are still under investigation.

UPDATE 12:22 p.m. Per LVMPD Sheriff Kevin McMahill, this shooting occurred at a law office. There are two deceased victims, and the shooter is dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.
The multi-story office building and hundreds of people inside were evacuated during this incident. The motive and the relationship between the victims and the shooter are under investigation.
