If we were all forest creatures of different species, the beasts that are the radical leftists would be a cannibalistic sort. Despite all their kumbaya, "We're all in this together," "Diversity is our strength," and hive-minded attitude, the further left you go on the political spectrum, the more competitive things get.
You see, the primary goal of a leftist is to be a better leftist than other leftists, and that usually means creating a strong sense of victimhood for yourself. Victimhood is their currency, after all, and the more of it you have, the more above everyone else you are. It's a race to the bottom.
This means that any opportunity you have to virtue signal and claim victimhood, you take it, even if it means turning on someone you liked, respected, or enjoyed. Nothing is more important than your ranking, and so no one is safe from being destroyed for stepping out of line.
This is why it's never a good idea to cultivate an entire audience filled with leftists, because at some point, you're going to step out of line thanks to a shift in the culture, a new social justice trend, or just a change in the wind. Being human means making mistakes, and the left drools over the idea of someone making one so that they, like piranhas, can swarm and get their pound of flesh.
You've seen it happen repeatedly. Leftist heroes demolished over what was effectively a slip of the tongue or a misunderstanding of the latest rules.
Sabrina Carpenter is just another industry elitist who checked almost every leftist box she could on the way up the fame ladder. She puts on hyper-sexualized displays during her concerts, consistently degrading and hating on men, and is constantly curating leftist support. You'll recall she "bravely" stood up to the Trump administration when they used her song in a post showing off ICE's success.
Something that the White House turned around and used to promote ICE further.
Yet, during one of her concerts, Carpenter made the mistake of disliking someone doing the Arabic zaghrouta, which is the celebratory sound you hear Islamic women make whenever an Islamic terrorist successfully kills Israelis or Westerners. You'll recall that sound being heard quite a bit in videos after 9/11.
Someone was doing that at Carpenter's set during her Coachella performance, which Carpenter didn't like at all. Even after someone told her that this was a part of her culture, Carpenter responded by saying she didn't like it.
As you can imagine, the piranhas have begun to swarm.

Carpenter has attempted to stop the bleeding with an apology:

But the damage is done.
I don't think it's going to destroy her career, and I'm pretty sure there are going to be industry reps and their friendly outlets working overtime to sweep it under the rug, but as it stands, Carpenter's being roasted alive, and there will be a solid chunk of her audience that doesn't forget or forgive. They can't, because they have too much to gain by hating on her for her "racism."
As YouTuber Caleb Hammer put it well:
"She has spent the past few years fueling the toxic online gender wars which has made her curate the most bottom of the barrel horrendous people to her audience… And those are the exact kind of people who will eat you alive at the moment you even slightly step out of line, or make a joke, or disagree with them on 0.1% of issues. Actions, meet consequences."
Cultivating a radically left audience is something that works well at first because of their rabid behavior; any attack against you will be defended with frothing at the mouth and gnashing teeth. It also makes industry leaders believe you're "safe" and "approved of," and because of that, you get their backing, which means a lot of money coming your way.
But at some point, one of two things happens.
Either you become so far left that even those on the center-left get sick of you and begin writing you off. Your ideological adherence affects your creative output, and everything you create becomes bound to your political opinions. You become too divisive to suffer, and soon your star starts dimming.
Or...
You get eaten by your own until you either push them away and embrace freedom from the hive mind, which will affect your career negatively, thanks to many industry leaders pushing away from you, or you're canceled by the mob, and the industry leaves you behind anyway.
Again, not sure Carpenter is totally done, but she's not getting out of this without some proverbial scars.
Such is adhering to leftist radicalism.
