I can't help but wonder if Democrats ever truly to stop and think about what they're saying, especially when they think they're sounding brave and revolutionary.
Now that we're in the second term of Donald Trump, an age that Democrats pulled out all the stops to prevent and still failed miserably, leftist politicians seem prone to fire from the hip when it comes to their declarations.
Case in point, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has joined the chorus of Democrats thumping their chest and proclaiming that they're going to fight Trump and his evil agenda. Moreover, they're going to bring it to that criminal Elon Musk.
They're not shy about telling you that punishments for those who stopped them from rising to power are coming down the pipe... if they ever get that power back. I'd like to chuckle at that threat, but I've learned to never say never.

Johnson, like every other Democrat with a chip on their shoulder and power to abuse, has taken aim at Musk, and is blaming him for all the wrong in the world. According to Fox News, Johnson called the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) an "act of war":
"The fact that the President of the United States of America is cutting off food supply and medicine to working people and families across this country — that is an act of war," Johnson fumed.
"And we're going to need leaders who are prepared and willing to stand up for working people, because this battle has reached our front doors all across America where people are struggling and suffering. And in order to alleviate that pain and discomfort, it's going to require bold leadership. We can't tippy toe."
An act of war? Can we pump the brakes on the Democrat dramatics, or am I asking a dog to quack with that request?
The bottom line here is that Johnson, like every other TDS-suffering politician, is way off in terms of what's actually going on, and that's on purpose, because this rhetoric allows him to paint his enemies as pure evil.
They do this all the time, and it's pure narrative slop. Democracy is under attack and the sky is falling!
Democracy was never under threat... we don't even have a Democracy. It's a Constitutional Republic, but as Natalie Portman's character in Closer says, "lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off," and given the left's track record, that heavily applies to Democrats.
But I digress.
Democrats continue to say these things at their own peril because Trump is only doing exactly what we asked him to do. Part of his campaign promise was to have Musk tag along and create the DOGE, which would then proceed to go through the government and eliminate waste, fraud, and cut the fat. The American people were practically drooling over the idea.
So when Democrats say that DOGE is an "act of war," who do Democrats think they're going to war against? Trump? Musk? DOGE?
We put them there. That was our call. This is our plan.
None of this happened magically. The American people made a decision based on the promises made by Donald Trump, and we agreed that this is what should happen, and by a large majority, I should add.
Democrats say these things without seeming to truly realize that what they're doing is lambasting and denouncing us. We the people checked "yes" on all this, and every time they decide to lash out against it, they're lashing out against us.
It seems a pretty easy thing to understand, but I do think many a Democrat are so blinded by their own TDS that they borderline refuse to believe that the American people have rejected them to embrace Trump. They live in some imaginary world where the land has been seized by an evil king, and it's up to them to rescue us from it.
But we don't want rescuing. The princess went to another castle intentionally. Democrats can either embrace that fact and change their ways (and it's not like we're not openly telling them what we'd rather have) or diminish and become a third-tier party.
I'm good with either, but I'd prefer the latter.
