For Corporations, Being Woke Is Absurdly Expensive Thanks to You

Many of the leftist youth in our country are only able to be so woke thanks to the prosperity and safety America affords them. When you really break down a lot of the radical leftist causes in America, they amount to first-world concerns that would disappear pretty fast as a priority the moment any real hardship befell Americans.

For instance, you'd see feminism disappear overnight if many of America's technological advancements suddenly went offline and DEI would be recognized as the joke it is because "inclusivity" and "diversity" won't provide you any shelter or food quite like skill and know-how would.

But the youth aren't the only entities enjoying the luxury of self-imposed first-world drama. Corporations are also in the habit of being far more cause-oriented thanks to the good times that create soft men. Like the angry college student tilting at windmills, corporations began focusing on questions like "What do we stand for" instead of "What are we producing," and the embrace of policies enforced by ESG-loyal money groups began.

I don't need to tell you what followed. Nearly every company that embraced ESG declined in quality or turned its back on its customers to be seen embracing what they thought was a brighter future. Of course, being the free market, the customers shrugged, held up their middle fingers, and proceeded to walk away.

As I reported in December of last year, the resulting boycott from the public cost the ESG movement trillions of dollars.

But the bleeding hasn't stopped as some companies haven't learned their lesson. I'm talking about companies like Google which had a disastrous release of its company's official AI called "Gemini." As you may recall, Gemini was so racist against white people and sexist against males that it refused to create pictures of white men in powerful positions and even misrepresented cultures all in a mission to be more "inclusive" and "diverse." The backlash was so bad that Google had to remove certain functionalities from Gemini, but that was the least of its troubles.

According to Forbes, Alphabet lost a whopping $90 billion in market value thanks to Gemini's disastrous launch. The interesting thing wasn't necessarily that Gemini had such a nasty launch, but that the nature of the AI and its radical bias to the left caused trust in the company to drop:

“The issue for the stock is not the debate [over Gemini] itself, it is the perception of truth behind the brand,” Melius Research analysts Ben Reitzes and Nick Monroe wrote in a Monday note to clients. “Regardless of your view, if Google is seen as an unreliable source for AI to a portion of the population, that isn’t good for business,” the analysts continued.

We're moving very swiftly into the age of AI. It's everywhere now, and Google demonstrated that it can't be trusted to make an AI worth talking to because of its heavy political bias which can only happen because its programmers are so heavily biased.

As I reported at the time, its programmers are indeed radically biased to the left. So much so that its lead programmer is openly racist.

But wait, there's more.

As I reported on Monday, the woke narrative company "Sweet Baby Inc." has now become something of a toxic brand in the gaming community as its woke influence on games has effectively caused game developers to churn out garbage under the company's influence. Gamers revolted against games that were touched by Sweet Baby Inc., and now a curation list has been created that allows customers to see which games this company has worked on, allowing them to make better purchasing decisions.

Do I even need to remind you what happened to Bud Light when it decided to embrace wokeness?

The point is pretty apparent here. If a business decides to embrace radical leftism it loses money...and I mean a lot of money. Billions of dollars have been flushed down the drain thanks to the embrace of leftist politics, DEI, ESG, CRT, and all the other woke concepts that cause business to become FUBAR.

Radical leftism is expensive. There's no way around that. When you stop focusing on making a good product and start prioritizing simply looking good you abandon integrity and merit and embrace shallowness. Your product suffers, your customer base abandons you, and you're left with a multi-billion dollar hole in your hull.

It's unsustainable, and so it's not something that businesses can indulge in forever. At some point, businesses will have to learn their lesson or die.
