The Second Reason Ilhan Omar Needs to Be Expelled From Congress

My colleague Ward Clark put it best when he described Ilhan Omar as being "(D-Somalia)." She certainly isn't representing Minnesota.

That politicians have a vested interest in other countries at the expense of the American people isn't irregular. However, it's not very often we see a politician say the quiet part out loud and actively admit that their loyalties are with another country first.

As Clark reported, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has called for Omar to be expelled from Congress, and not only that, to be denaturalized and deported.

According to the Daily Wire, DeSantis isn't the only one:

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) responded: “Ilhan Omar’s appalling, Somalia-first comments are a slap in the face to the Minnesotans she was elected to serve and a direct violation of her oath of office. She should resign in disgrace.”

“What if @Ilhan fought for Somalia from Somalia?” asked Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA). “Might be time to discuss expelling another member of Congress.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) commented in-part: “She flaunts using her position as congresswoman to protect Somalia’s border while our border is invaded by MILLIONS of illegals who are a danger to America.”

Rep. Diana Harshbarger (R-TN) posted on X: “Terrorist sympathizer Ilhan Omar has shown her true colors. Her treasonous comments and allegiance to Somalia are a violation of her oath of office. Our elected officials have a duty to our nation, and our nation only. We must be vigilant when deciding who is allowed to enter our country.”

Omar has a history of sympathizing with those who hate America because, as she's made pretty clear herself, she too hates this country.

We've recently booted a congressman out of office for far less. It's time that Omar also gets the boot, but not just because she's actively in opposition to the U.S. and embracing the interests of a country that spawns warlords and religious extremists.

We need to do it to set a precedent and make kicking America's enemies out of the country, especially the ones in elected office. If you actively work against the U.S. and declare your disloyalty to it by declaring loyalty to another country entirely, then you have to go. Do not pass "GO." Do not collect any more taxpayer-funded paychecks.

This isn't something that can just be shrugged off and ignored. The idea that someone working strictly for the benefit of another country within an elected office (or any office for that matter) cannot be normalized. This isn't something that other people can see and think they can do as well.

Because if we don't then soon, we won't have a country and we're having a hard enough time with these kinds of people as it is. These politicians will deconstruct our nation until there is nothing left and hand the parts to other nations.

If we set this precedent now, we can get the ball rolling on seeing to it that politicians, especially radical leftist politicians, do not have the freedom to betray and ruin America that they think they have. They need to learn that there are consequences.

The only reason Omar believes she can say these things is because the hubris that has grown amongst the left has gotten out of control. Up until lately, there hasn't really been any reason for the left to fear any kind of comeuppance for their actions.

That has to stop. Omar has to be booted from Congress. The future of our nation may depend on us drawing a line in the sand here and now.
