The Democrat Party Is Collapsing in on Itself

If you were to take a step back and look at the Democrat Party over a timeline of ten years, you’d see something pretty incredible. While both the Democrat and Republican Parties have massively changed over the past decade, you’d be hard-pressed to say that the Democrats have gotten better.

You could say that shift began in earnest during the Trump administration but in my honest opinion, I would place the radical lean to the left at some point during the Obama administration. It was during this time that the left became convinced that radicalism was both good and approved of by the people at large. The charisma and popularity of Barack Obama had them so convinced that people wanted more of it that when Trump won the 2016 election, they concluded that they lost because they weren’t radicalized to the left enough.

Tying this belief to the idea that defiance of President Donald Trump at every turn and at all costs, the left began believing their own hype more than ever, and soon enough real radicals began taking the stage at the DNC. AOC and her squad were elected in various parts of the U.S., attempts at indoctrinating kids began to take shape, and the complete denial of reality was all done with boatloads of hubris attached.

Like some sort of drug binge, the left sank into a stupor it has yet to awaken from, but as so often happens in the life of a drug-addicted person, everything is beginning to fall apart.

As I write this, the left is unraveling at a breakneck pace. They’re losing ground all over the nation as a red wave approaches. Democrats are fleeing the party and signing on to vote for Republicans during the midterm. Blue states like California are emptying out thanks to Democrat policies, leaving those who remain to foot the wildly expensive bill foisted on them by Democrat politicians.

Even business leaders are speaking out against the conditions Democrats have put their local areas in. According to Fox News, Davis Smith of the Cotopaxi clothing brand is closing his store’s doors in San Francisco over the crime epidemic the city is experiencing:

“We are closing the store due to rampant organized theft and lack of safety for our team. Our store is hit by organized theft rings several times per week. They brazenly enter the store and grab thousands of dollars of product and walk out,” Smith wrote.

“We started keeping the door locked and opening it only for customers, but even then, they’ll have a woman go to the door, and then hiding individuals rush into the store as soon as the door opens. Our team is terrified. They feel unsafe. Security guards don’t help because these theft rings know that security guards won’t/can’t stop them,” he added.

This is an echo of a San Francisco real estate CEO’s comments I wrote about in September:

“It is now difficult for me to tell potential candidates that they should move to San Francisco,” he wrote. “We pay some of the highest taxes, local and state, in the nation, yet we have no sense of security.

“Protecting public safety should be the government’s top priority — that is the foundation of a successful city. Only in a community where people feel that they and their families are safe will jobs and culture flourish.”

Meanwhile, even AOC is finding revolts at her own town halls.

Democrat politicians are watching what leads they have shrivel up and disappear in the polls as we drift closer to election time and despite attempts at nudging the vote back their way, their handling of the economy is stopping anyone and everyone from actually taking them seriously.

The Democrats indulged in their own pride too much and now they’re finding out that their castle was built on sand. They became selfish ideologues and are now watching as the very people they sought to control and rule over are simply turning their back on this brave new world the left wants to bring about.

Democrats have only themselves to blame. The question is, will they learn any lessons from this?
