Rand Paul and Tulsi Gabbard Listed as "Russian Propaganda" by Ukraine

It would appear Ukraine has decided that a number of American politicians are Russian propagandists, including Kentucky Senator Rand Paul and former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.

According to Newsweek, the Ukrainian Center for Countering Disinformation is an organization founded by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in order to study the impact that “Russian disinformation” has on society. The organization has now begun pointing fingers, including Paul and Gabbard, each of whom have been accused of assisting Russian propaganda in the past:

In April, Paul said President Joe Biden provoked Russia to invade its neighbor by advocating Ukraine’s entrance into NATO.

He also said: “You could also argue the countries they’ve attacked were part of Russia. Or part of the Soviet Union.”

Paul was immediately rebuked for this by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who said Russia was not justified in invading Ukraine.

Former Rep. Gabbard said that the U.S. had provoked Putin for many years and that there are 25 dangerous biolabs in Ukraine that could release deadly pathogens.

Also appearing on this list is journalist Glenn Greenwald who also supported Gabbard’s bio lab claims and also says that he didn’t want the U.S. to help Ukraine against Russia in order to avoid dragging the country into war.

Newsweek reported that Greenwald has already spoken out against the list, calling it “McCarthyite idiocy.”

Paul was one of the few Senators to resist sending the $40 billion package to Ukraine back in May and stalled the package by forcing a vote to include an amendment within it. The Kentucky senator was opposed to it given the current state of the United States economy and made the argument that Ukraine couldn’t be saved by “dooming the U.S. economy.”

Greenwald is likely closer to the truth. This list out of Ukraine is likely there to make people who inconvenience them in any way or disagree with their narrative in some form or fashion, to be Russian allies in some regard. At this time, Russia’s social stock is at an all-time low around the globe, and politicians looking to discredit their opposition would do well to find a way to connect them to Russia.

Since Paul is diametrically opposed to sending billions of dollars to Ukraine, that makes him a hurdle Ukraine has to overcome. Not that this will stop Paul or convince his constituency to turn against him, but it will fool a lot of the people into believing he is a Russian stooge.
