On Thursday, a video of former NFL running back Zac Stacy began circulating around Twitter that appeared to show him beating his ex-girlfriend, including throwing her into televisions. The horrific video has shocked those who have come across it and elicited no end of anger toward the former New York Jets player.
I will not post the video here, but in the clips, the woman is seen begging for Stacy to stop as he throws her into televisions and a baby’s bouncy seat as well as hits her in front of a 5-month-old child. This is said to have taken place on Saturday at the ex-girlfriends home on Saturday.
Fox News reported that it reached out to Stacy but has received no response.
According to TMZ Sports, the woman called the cops immediately after the altercation but Stacy had fled the scene before law enforcement could arrive. According to the restraining order filed by the woman, Stacy had come over to see his son around 2pm, where he flew into a “jealous, violent rage”:
“He punched me several times in the head! I begged him to stop because the baby was on the couch just a few feet from where he punched me,” the woman wrote in the restraining order application.
She continued … “He then picked me up and threw me into my TV. The TV began to fall and he turned to make sure I wasn’t getting up. As I laid on the floor he began to yell at me, telling me I’m destructive. He then picked me up off the floor and off my feet and body slammed me into our son’s bouncy seat.”
That’s when she says Stacy said “I love you” to their baby boy, and bolted. In the restraining order docs, the woman adds, “I fear for my life and my children’s lives.”
The video has sparked serious backlash across all groups online with many expressing their rage at the sight of Stacy abusing the woman. This includes MMA fighter Uriah Hall who stated he’s looking for Zac Stacy with the intent to “give an a** whooping on site.”
However, Stacy elicited rage from someone in the football world. Greenbay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams took to Twitter to express his anger at what he saw in the open and made the comment that Stacy doesn’t just need to go to jail, he needs to be thrown under it.
“I’m not retweeting the video but ZAC STACY NEED TO BE THROWN UNDER THE JAIL. Any man that puts his hands on a woman is a coward. Can’t believe what I just saw,” Adams tweeted.

“Under the jail” is another way of saying “life imprisonment.”
Other former NFL stars have spoken out including Darius Butler and Stacy’s former teammate Chris Long who commented that he had no idea about this side of Stacy despite playing with him at one point in his career.
“Woke up to the Zac Stacy video. Made my stomach turn. Not retweeting. Crazy to play w someone for a couple years & you have no idea what kind of bullshit they do at home,” he said.
According to Fox 35 in Orlando, a search by Orange County Sherriff’s Office is on and they have urged him to turn himself in.
“Efforts are underway to capture Stacy, and we would urge him to turn himself in and face the criminal charges,” said a statement from the department.
