The Left Isn't Just Attacking Tolkien, It's Attacking the West

When people think of some of the great literary works created in the western world, you will always find J.R.R Tolkien’s work somewhere at the forefront of their minds. The man wasn’t just a good writer, he was a brilliant world builder, and reading the Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit is like drinking a single mug of beer from a much larger barrel.

Tolkien’s work imparted to his readers a sense of western ideals through a fantasy world. It was interwoven with Judeo-Christian principles, honor, duty, and a love of freedom.

It should come as no surprise that the left has little love for Tolkien and his ideals. They’re more likely to describe him as racist before they talk about his great accomplishments. For instance, they claim that Tolkien’s “orcs” were just stand-ins for black and Asian people.

Tolkien never said this, but they sure did. So who are the real racists here?

However, instead of ignoring him as any human would do with something or someone they despise, the left sees the value in Tolkien’s Middle Earth as a literary tool that influenced people from their tender ages and well into their elder age. The playbook doesn’t require rejection, it requires assimilation. Thus, the left is going to try to wokify Tolkien’s world.

As reported by the Daily Wire, the knife in the back of Tolkien’s legacy is going to come, not from without, but from within, as The Tolkien Society will be hosting a summer seminar in July titled “Tolkien and Diversity.”

“While interest in the topic of diversity has steadily grown within Tolkien research,” the Society says, “it is now receiving more critical attention than ever before. Spurred by recent interpretations of Tolkien’s creations and the cast list of the upcoming Amazon show ‘The Lord of the Rings,’ it is crucial we discuss the theme of diversity in relation to Tolkien.”

What kind of diversity? The kind that claims that there were transgender people in Gondor, that Saruman was gay, that there’s a problematic lack of feminist representation in female dwarves, and something about “destabilizing cishetero amatonormativity,” which I’m sure made more sense in their heads when they thought it up.

We can see this as an attack on Tolkien, and indeed it is, but this goes deeper than that. Again, the left doesn’t see Tolkien’s work as a literary masterpiece that has influenced generations of writers, gamers, and film artists. They don’t see the sprawling world of a man so talented at being a linguist that he literally created a bunch of them to give his world depth.

In reality, they don’t even see Tolkien, and if that’s the case, they definitely don’t see his views, beliefs, and intentions behind his writing. Even further than that, they don’t really care.

What they care about is Tolkien’s work being used as a delivery system for their politics, and how they can use Middle Earth as a tool to further destabilize and demoralize the west. They infiltrate, pervert, and twist his work so that it suits their purposes in bringing down the free people of this Earth.

In other words, the dangerous concepts and ideals that Tolkien warned us about are being practiced by the very people now in the institution that promotes his legacy.

Perverting Tolkien’s work will be one more influential thing that the left has infected to help promote their extremist ideas, and if they’re successful, this perversion will have an influencing effect on future generations. They don’t want bold men and women of the west, they want simpering Wormtongues, mindless orcs, and weak-minded Stewards of the throne.

This won’t stop here. Soon we’ll be getting stories about how orcs aren’t really all that bad and that much of the west’s problem with them just stemmed from racism. Stories about brave, empowered female characters who travel to foreign lands and learn how oppressive Gondor has been, resulting in their constant state of poverty and strife will hit television screens.

All the while, Tolkien will be rolling in his grave as he watches Middle Earth burn.

Keep Tolkien and his vision alive. Don’t buy into this perversion and remember his story for what it really is. They can create “official” stories all day, but we’ll know the difference.
