After Meghan Markle and Harry Windsor made the claim that racism existed within the Royal Family, speculation into who it might be started spreading through the internet community, but as it did, so did a great deal of skepticism. It wasn’t helped along by the fact that neither Meghan or Harry refused to mention who it was that expressed said racism.

Many began questioning whether or not the question about the baby’s skin color that was reportedly directed at Harry actually had any racism attached to it, and wondered if it was just some elderly royal who didn’t know any better. This skepticism is shared by Thomas Markle, Meghan’s father, who not only shrugged off Meghan’s claims but may have even fired back on behalf of the Royal Family.

“I have great respect for the royals, and I don’t think the British royal family are racist at all. I don’t think the British are racist, I think Los Angeles is racist, California is a racist, but I don’t think the Brits are,” Markle said according to Reuters.

“The thing about what color will the baby be or how dark will the baby be; I’m guessing and hoping it’s just a dumb question from somebody … It could be somebody asked a stupid question. Rather than being a total racist,” he added.

“This whole thing about color and how dark the baby is is bullshit,” he added.

Despite his position, Markle believes the incident should be investigated, but like many, seems to believe the issue isn’t really an issue.

What’s interesting is the fact that Markle struck at California for its racism, which may have been a jab at his social justice adherent daughter. Social justice advocates are generally racist toward white people and oftentimes the Jewish community. With California so deeply infected with social justice from its government to its culture, Markle’s commentary is right on the bullseye.

Markle shutting down his daughter publicly comes off the back of their own rocky relationship. When Meghan and Harry got married, Markle had to pull out of the wedding due to undergoing heart surgery.

“I was in a hospital bed the last time we talked and we I never heard from them again – they didn’t care if I died,” said Markle.

The timing of the interview also mimics Harry and Meghan abandoning Markle while he was in the hospital bed as the interview was released at the same time Prince Phillip, Henry’s grandfather, was in the hospital.

As time goes on, Harry and Meghan look more and more like the villains of the story.
