House Speaker Nancy Pelosi once again floated a conspiracy about the president to make him look like a cheating liar unfit for office, but Donald Trump Jr. had a perfect response that has the left raging.

In reaction to President Donald Trump’s announcement that he ordered officials to stop negotiating another COVID-19 relief bill, Pelosi decided it was an opportune moment to speculate that the only reason Trump was doing this was that steroids make you think differently, insinuating that Trump wasn’t in his right mind after he was treated with a steroid over his COVID diagnosis, according to The Hill:

“Believe me, there are people … who think that steroids have an impact on your thinking. So, I don’t know,” Pelosi had said on the call, according to two sources.

Trump has been prescribed a steroid among other drugs to treat COVID-19, which he was diagnosed with last week.

Being treated with a form steroid isn’t uncommon in fighting lung infections.

Trump Jr. wasn’t about to take that and reminded the world that Pelosi is one to talk given her rumored problem with alcohol.

“Well, you know, Nancy has her own substance issues, according to the press and according to the media, so I won’t get into that,” Trump Jr. said during a Fox and Friends interview. “It’s obviously nonsense.”

He went on to say that the stimulus package she’s suggesting the government go forward with is really just a big-spending bill for her agenda.

“Donald Trump simply wants to get money to the American people,” Trump Jr. went on to say. “But if the Democrats continue to do this – to try to drive that narrative as though they pulled out, it’s absolutely asinine.”

“They asked for a wish list of totally ridiculous things — things that have nothing to do with getting the economy going,” he added. “Things that would only be there to fund, again, a radical leftist Democrat wish list. Primarily, again, cashless bail, funding for illegal immigrants.”

While everything else Trump Jr. said was more or less ignored, many leftists went on to focus on his comments about Pelosi’s own substance abuse problems and brought up the fact that the media has made reference to them.

One of the instances Trump Jr. is referring to is the fact that Pelosi has been labeled as a drunk on multiple occasions and has, from time to time, been caught slurring her speech and speaking incoherently.

Other videos have seen the light of day that make Pelosi seem even worse but have been doctored. Fact-checkers tend to focus on these, but what hasn’t been focused on much are oddities in Pelosi’s spending habits on alcohol.

In January of 2019, Judicial Watch investigated Pelosi’s extravagant travel expenses using taxpayer-funded luxury Air Force jets. Judicial Watch found that Pelosi had spent over $100,000 on food and alcohol over a two year period:

Beginning in 2009, after the media failed to follow up on concerns raised about Nancy Pelosi’s use of luxury Air Force jets to travel between her congressional district and DC, Judicial Watch’s Freedom of Information act requests exposed her abuse of this travel perk.  Judicial Watch uncovered that Pelosi’s military travel cost the United States Air Force $2,100,744.59 over one two-year period — $101,429.14 of which was for in-flight expenses, including food and alcohol.

Does this prove she’s an alcoholic? No. In fact, there’s a claim out there that she doesn’t drink at all. Whether or not that’s true or whether or not she’s a drunk isn’t the point.

There’s no undeniable proof that Pelosi is a drunk just like there’s no undeniable proof that Trump is only ceasing talks on a COVID relief package because he’s under the influence of a steroid drug for his lungs. The comment from Pelosi is meant to start rumors that paint Trump as unfit to make decisions and that’s that.

In truth, Trump ceasing the talks fits within his style of pulling away from a table where the deal in front of him is complete garbage and he puts the ball in the court of the people he’s dealing with to come back with something better. To be sure, Pelosi’s COVID deal has a lot of garbage in it as it was described by Trump Jr.

This is a pretty common tactic by Democrats. Ask for something absurd within spending bills meant to “help” the people and allow Republicans to say “no” to it. Democrats then get to say Republicans are heartless.

If anyone is being outrageous here, it’s not Trump Jr.
