Nancy Pelosi is the grift that keeps on giving.

Attacks on President Donald Trump’s newest Supreme Court nominee, Amy Coney Barrett, have been relentless, but since it’s the Democrats doing all the attacking the intensity is only matched by its silliness.

Because of Barrett’s Catholic faith, the left has been screaming about the horrors of Christian belief including one House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who is what she describes as “Catholic”, as well.

This is apparently a different kind of Catholicism, however. A kind that doesn’t want to keep women barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen and does so by casually throwing out the Christian belief that all life is sacred.

Pelosi was on MSNBC with Andrea Mitchell when she was asked to respond to Barrett being a “devout Catholic.” Catholic Pelosi responded with a heaping serving of word salad, but the gist of what she’s trying to say is that the GOP is out to get women and trying to set them back.

“You’re a devout Catholic,” said Mitchell. “What’s your reaction to that? Is there a risk that Democrats not attack this nominee for her religious views and stick to where she might stand as a judge?”

“Yeah, well the President is trying to, as usual, deflect attention from the fact as we have all spoken out very clearly,” Pelosi began. “The reason the President is in a hurry to make this appointment and have this justice in place, no matter who it would be, no matter who it would be, is because on November 10th the oral arguments start on the Affordable Care Act, which he has committed to overturn, that’s why he’s in court, to overturn your pre-existing condition benefit.”

“And so, this is … some people make the ‘oh, well Garland.’ No, Garland, Scalia died in February,” Pelosi continued. “Ruth Bader Ginsburg died, when she died 10 states were already voting in our country. So, okay, we don’t want to get involved in the process, but understand why they were so disrespectful, it’s their attitude, but also your pre-existing condition.”

“If your child is on your policy, forget about it. If you are a woman, return to a time when being a woman is a pre-existing medical condition,” Pelosi said. “I can, as a mother of five, I can speak with some authority on that subject. If your family is availing itself of long-term care by way of Medicare, forget Medicaid, forget about it. This is kitchen table concerns, whether its health or financial health, they’re out to get you and that’s why they’re in such a hurry, even as people were voting when Ruth Bader Ginsburg went to her reward.”

It’s interesting that Pelosi considers herself an expert on this matter because she’s a mother of five, unlike Barrett, a mother of seven, who couldn’t possibly know anything about the effects of the ACA on families.

I’ve never been good at math but I’m pretty sure seven is more than five, so I’m certain Barrett knows a thing or two about raising a family as a woman. I’m also pretty sure she’s smart enough to speak with other families who have been negatively affected by Obamacare, which caused premiums to skyrocket.

But none of that is relevant.

What is relevant to Barrett’s soon-to-be job is whether or not the ACA vibes with the Constitution, which it doesn’t. The only reason it passed in the first place is because of the mental acrobatics of constructionist judges who labeled a penalty for not purchasing the ACA a “tax.”

Obamacare began failing from the word “go,” and the ACA has been so gutted that it’s all but a worthless pile of scrap. Tossing out the ACA would be a blessing for Americans, and we can finally get around to fixing the healthcare issue with real solutions, not socialist ones.

Regardless, Pelosi’s own hyperbolic nonsense about the GOP attempting to hurt women is so old hat at this point that I’m not sure who is buying it with the exception of those who are actively willing to do so. These people will do what they’ve always done and attack women who believe a certain ideology with force and venom and then claim they’re the victims because (insert issue of the day here).

The GOP isn’t out to get women. In fact, the right is led by so many women it’s a wonder the left continues with this line of attack.

The funny part is that, in order to take this line of attack, you’d have to dismiss all the women standing in front of you in opposition, denying their existence, attacking their beliefs, and attempt to silence them.
