Do all lives matter to Democrats?

We’ve told that the Black Lives Matter movement wasn’t a dismissal of all lives, just the focus on the importance of solving the deadly problems that the black community is dealing with, specifically when it comes to their relationship with police.

That would be fair…if that was the left’s position.

According to a Rassmussen poll, when leftists were asked if “Black Lives Matter” or “All Lives Matter,” 63 percent said only black lives matter vs 29 percent who said all lives do.

Rasmussen reports that overall, 30 percent now say “black lives matter,” which is up from 11 percent the last time this question was asked in 2015.

As it stands, most Americans still believe all lives matter at 59 percent, but that’s down from 78 percent in 2015. However, when divided down by racial lines, more minorities believe that all lives matter than white people do.

Possibly even more surprising is that more people in the black community believe all lives matter than strictly black lives:

Sixty percent (60%) of whites and 61% of other minority voters put all lives first. Among blacks, 44% say black lives matter; 47% all lives matter.

It’s not widely publicized what the black community at large thinks about the concept of the black lives matter movement. It’s been assumed by every side that the majority of black people sided with the movement in the form of strictly worrying about black lives. If the Rassmussen poll is accurate, this would mean that this isn’t necessarily the case.

“Black lives matter” as a concept, the concept that black lives matter just as much as everyone else’s, is a good one for all intents and purposes. It aligns with the principles of our founding and one of the biggest virtues of America. However, Black Lives Matter the institution is a different story, being an arm of the Democrat party that doesn’t seek out methods or avenues to solve the problem the black community faces.

The institution seems more intent on created division than bridging gaps and bringing people together. It stokes the fires between the black community and the police, and Democrats and the media are only too happy to fan the flames alongside them.

But it would appear that despite its best efforts, it hasn’t yet convinced everyone, including the black community, that it should only be concerned with itself to the point of rejecting all other races to the point of supremacy.

There’s still an America out there beneath the sensationalist headlines and round-the-clock coverage of racial strife.
