If the Democrats were hoping the Wuhan virus would hurt Trump in the polls, their hopes are coming up short. Polls indicate that in the state of Florida, Trump is still out in front of his two Democrat contenders, former VP Joe Biden and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
As first reported by the Daily Caller, a Univision poll indicates that Trump leads his Democrat opponents at 56 points while Biden and Sanders trail behind:
In one-on-one match up between Biden and Trump, the president takes the lead with 48% of Floridian voters, according to a Univision survey. Trump has a similar lead over Sanders in the same survey with 49% of the vote while the Vermont senator stands at 42%.
To be sure, the left has been pulling out all the stops in order to make this pandemic Trump’s fault and has had nothing good to say about the way the administration has been tackling it. It’s even gotten so petty that the leftist media has labeled Trump’s referencing of the virus as the Wuhan virus as a racist act despite the fact that the media itself had been using that term for some time.

There’s still a long way to go until the general elections and it’s almost guaranteed that the pandemic will end long before that. If Trump continues to strengthen the economy in the same way he has since he was elected, then the left will have nothing to really come at him with. Neither Sanders nor Biden is capable of measuring up in a one-on-one duel with the President as they have little-to-nothing to offer except promises of free stuff they can’t keep. By the time this pandemic is over, not only will Trump have the response under his belt, he’ll have the recovery to boot.
If Florida is any indication of how things are going to go, then Democrats are going to have a harder time then they’d like in the coming months in spite of their high hopes of disaster.
