Anyone with half a brain cell can see that the impeachment proceedings are pretty much a circus designed to make President Donald Trump look bad and the Democrats look like stalwart defenders of American democracy. Now, we have Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez more or less admitting that it’s all just a made-for-TV production.
As my colleague, Bonchie, covered earlier today, while on CNN with Wolf Blitzer on the “Situation Room,” AOC more or less pulled back the curtain and showed us what the real reason behind the impeachment proceedings are.
Spoiler alert: It’s about uniting Democrats and helping the 2020 elections.

While this admission that it’s a show may not come as a surprise to any Republicans, it may come as a surprise to Democrats who were told not long ago that the reasons Republicans are even wanting to call up witnesses of their own is because they want to make a spectacle and a circus out of these impeachment proceedings in order to distract the American people.
As Ryan Saavedra at the Daily Wire highlighted, it was Ocasio-Cortez who told them that:
“Congresswoman, I do want to ask you, we had some news that broke earlier today. Your Republican colleagues announced that they intend to call on Hunter Biden as a witness in this impeachment probe. Is he an appropriate witness?” ABC News asked.
“No, I don’t think he’s an appropriate witness, and not only that, but I think that the reason they’re calling for these witnesses, these new witnesses, is because they want to make a spectacle and a circus out of this entire proceeding,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “They want to distract the American people from the very words that Donald Trump uttered from his mouth in that call with Ukrainian officials trying to extort a foreign government into intervening into the United States elections.”
“And, in fact, these witnesses that they’re calling are politically motivated,” Ocasio-Cortez continued, again apparently unaware of the fact that impeachment is a political event. “Republicans are turning this into a partisan issue.
Hilarious. Sad, but hilarious.
Honestly, I sometimes wonder if AOC is a Republican plant meant to bring down the Democrat party from within. I’m pretty sure Nancy Pelosi considers possibility from time to time as well.
In essence, what AOC just told us is that this dog and pony show by the Democrats is pure 2020 desperation. Again, Republicans have seen through this from the very beginning, and the only reason we’re taking these impeachment proceedings seriously is to prevent Democrats from fooling the public into thinking Trump really did do something wrong.
He, of course, didn’t. As we’ve been covering relentlessly at RedState, every piece of evidence that has been brought against Trump amounts to a game of telephone, with someone saying that they heard Trump said something that one time from somebody else.
In fact, Democrat Mike Quigley straight-up tried to convince everyone of the legitimacy of just hearsay being much better evidence than direct by actually saying “hearsay can be much better evidence than direct.”

High school girls cliques are likely to have more rigorous standards of fact-checking than Democrats.
Considering all of the above evidence we can safely categorize these impeachment proceedings as nonsense. Pure, unadulterated nonsense.
And America should be offended.
Not only are the Democrats wasting time and resources on something that they know is a sham, but they’re also making a mockery of our Republic’s electoral process. Despite constant attempts at trying to peg him with illegal wrongdoing, he’s been doing that job. Just looking at our strong economy is a testament to that fact, and it’s possibly the main reason he’ll win this election despite the Democrat’s circus show.
In fact, they’d rather you not pay attention to Trump’s economic success, thus the reason for the show.

In short, we elected Trump and Democrats keep trying to correct our “mistake” for us. Even if this is a sideshow, it’s still pretty insulting. They don’t care about the will of the people, Democrats care about the will of the Democrats.
They want you kept in the dark in the meantime, which is adding to the insulting nature of all of this.
Look at how hard they’ve worked to keep the name of the whistleblower a secret despite Eric Ciaramella’s name being out there for weeks now. They don’t want you knowing that the “whistleblower” is a Democratic operative. It would ruin the narrative they’ve worked hard to build.

They don’t have any chance in 2020 and they’re going to extremes in order to regain power. Anyone who is that desperate for it shouldn’t have it. America has been lied to by the Democrats incessantly, and it’s time we shrugged and walked away.
