Trump Defends Tulsi Gabbard Against the Equivalent of the Democrat Party's Mean Girls

President Donald Trump

Democratic Presidential Candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is not the most popular kid at the Democrats’ table, and that’s primarily because she finds common ground on both sides of the aisle on different subjects. Today’s Democrats don’t like that kind of “impurity,” and as such, have begun throwing nasty comments her way, as well as spreading vicious rumors about her.

The meanest of the mean girls at the Democrats’ lunch table is failed 2016 candidate, Hillary Clinton, who went so far as to accuse Gabbard of being a “Russian asset” as my colleague Bonchie previously covered.

If there’s one person who knows what it’s like to be labeled a Russian asset by Hillary Clinton and the Democrats, it’s President Donald Trump, who spoke out in defense of Gabbard, and verbally smacked Clinton down during a small press conference, according to The Hill.

“Hillary Clinton, I don’t know if you’ve heard of her, she’s the one accusing everybody of being a Russian agent. Anybody that is opposed to her is a Russian agent,” Trump told reporters during a Cabinet meeting. “That’s a scam that was pretty much put down.”

“I don’t know Tulsi, but she’s not a Russian agent,” Trump continued. “I don’t know Jill Stein. I know she likes the environment. I don’t think she likes Russians. If she does like them, I know she’s not an asset.”

“These people are sick. There’s something wrong with them,” Trump, who has repeatedly cast doubt on the intelligence community’s conclusion that Russia interfered in 2016 to help him defeat Clinton, said.

Trump also claimed that Gabbard, whose presidential campaign has struggled in the polls, would be helped by Clinton’s comments.

“I think that Tulsi Gabbard probably got helped quite a bit by this there.”

“I think we were helped,” Trump said, accusing Clinton of perpetrating a “scam.”

Gabbard has been one of the candidates many moderates on the left have come to support, and even conservatives have grown to find a certain respect for her without lending her any support. This defense by Trump is likely not to improve Gabbard’s chances of being liked within the current mainstream Democrat party as it is, but may indeed attract more moderates back to the left.
