Normally, the Democrats get treated pretty well by the mainstream media. They’re often thrown softball questions, or are given the opportunity to blatantly lie without the reporter ever correcting them. This is the opposite for Republicans, who are often put in the hot seat and asked to tangle with a narrative pre-established by the media.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is one such Democrat that has gotten a pretty cushy treatment by the press throughout her career, while rarely ever having to be in a situation where she’s in any real danger of hostility from the media.

However, on Wednesday, Pelosi was confronted by a reporter from the San Francisco Chronicle who apparently made Pelosi answer for the lack of gun control measures despite Democrats best efforts. Pelosi didn’t appreciate it, to say the least, and after putting the blame on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, proceeded to chide the reporter for asking those kinds of questions.

“Do you have any regrets about not bringing the House back in August to keep the flame lit on gun violence?” asked the reporter.

“No, absolutely not. We did our job. The Senate was supposed to come back. Why don’t you all get that straight? The Senate did not come back to pass the bill. I’m getting very angry about the silliness of these questions. Lives are at stake. Senator McConnell is standing in the way,” Pelosi replied, clearly annoyed.

“We passed our bill in February. Members had events all over the country to ask him to bring up the bill. Don’t ask me what we haven’t done. We have done it,” she continued.

Pelosi proceeded to instruct the journalist on what she should be doing instead of asking her these questions.

“And if you are annoyed with my impatience, it’s because people are dying because Senator McConnell hasn’t acted. Why don’t you go ask him if he has any regrets for all the people who died because he hasn’t acted?” she said.

While Pelosi blames McConnell for there not being any advancement on gun control legislation, it should be noted that the American people are actually losing interest in gun control, and that as a result of the Democrats pushing gun control efforts, gun sales have once again spiked.

That said, it’s good to see Democrats being asked difficult questions by the press. Trust in the media is still at a low point, and it’s no wonder why. It’s more or less dedicated itself to becoming an anti-Trump propaganda machine and failing at it to boot. Not only does it look overwhelmingly biased, but it also looks incompetent.

Still, it’s funny to see how angry a Democrat gets when its media when it asks an unapproved question.
