If you thought that acid attacks were just a thing that Muslim extremists did whenever they found out a woman learned how to read or think for herself in general at all, then I regret to inform you that Antifa has also adopted this extremist’s tool of oppression.

According to Big League Politics, screenshots have become available of one reported Antifa member bragging that “we” have Muriatic acid, as well as water balloons dipped in wax.

“I just want to toss as many balloons of Muriatic acid in the faces as many Proud Boys I can,” said the user going by “Proud On Your Boy.”

It’s not entirely clear if the threats are legitimate, but free speech event co-organizer Enrique Tarrio is taking the threats seriously enough to involve the FBI and DHS. Additional security is now being provided to the event, reported BLP.

BLP reported that Muriatic acid by itself isn’t that big of a deal but when added with wax can cause severe injuries, and possibly even death:

According to Tarrio, the threat is especially dangerous due to the use of wax. Muriatic acid can be purchased in virtually any pool store or home improvement store, and is already dangerous on its own with the ability to cause minor burns, but can quickly be washed off with water. By combining the muriatic acid with wax, it will immediately form a film similar to candle wax on the injured person’s skin.

Tarrio explains that this could allow the burn to become severe, and even lead to the wax and acid entering the injured person’s blood stream and causing cardiac arrest.

“It starts with milk shakes, then it escalates to what happened to Andy Ngo, and now they’re threatening us with acid attacks,” Tarrio told Big League Politics. “All because we want to defend free speech in Washington, D.C.”

BLP reported that artwork, along with the phrase “Pound On Your Boy,” was traced back to Fagan Kuhnmuench, a Rolling Stone and Playboy journalist who has repeatedly demonstrated himself to be sympathetic to Antifa, but Kuhnmeunch denied that he has anything to do with the account threatening DC.
