New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) is no stranger to patting herself on the back. The “democratic socialist’s” social-media feeds are rife with self-celebration, and propaganda. What’s great is that you can expect it to be as cringe-worthy as it is constant.
AOC’s latest celebration of AOC came to us via Twitter in what might be the cringiest thing we’ve seen from her yet.
“Your daily reminder,” tweeted AOC, which included a picture.
The picture is a drawing of her looking stoically into the distance with the words “You can’t wait for hope. You have to be hope” above.

The picture was created by Twitter user “SoGayJen” who apparently is a feminist who channels her “feminist rage” into art, according to her Twitter bio.
Personally, this looks like watered down propaganda you usually see distributed by leaders in socialist governments who have a well-known figurehead.

Additionally, I’m not sure that self-promotion of this kind gives Ocasio-Cortez a healthy look. According to this picture, Ocasio-Cortez described herself as the embodiment of “hope.” That’s not something someone with a healthy amount of ego does.
Furthermore, it’s kind of hilarious that she’s doing things that people get mad at Donald Trump for. Self-aggrandizement doesn’t look good on anyone, but at least Trump has accomplishments he can fall back on. AOC has getting elected in a place where Nancy Pelosi confirmed a glass of water could win if it ran with a D next to its name.
Other than that, she has sweeping socialist legislation that no one voted yes for.
Before this, Ocasio-Cortez released a bizarre fan-fiction video about how she affected the future by inspiring children and saved the world after the passage of her Green New Deal, which had already crashed and burned in Washington.
It would have been one thing if AOC retweeted “SoGayJen’s” art after the artist posted it to Twitter herself, but that’s not what happened. She was given the art and AOC posted it from her own account, not as a thank you to the artist and an acknowledgment of her time and work to appreciate her, but as a message to everyone as if she was inspiring.
It’s just weird.
