Earlier, RedState covered the story of Freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar, (D-Minn.) releasing a tweet that straight up lied about what happened involving the Covington Catholic school kids that have become the center of a media frenzy after they were attacked under false pretenses.
As RedState has covered extensively, the hate group Black Hebrew Israelites had targeted the students for harassment while they attended the March for Life event in Washington D.C., prompting the students to chant school songs and mottos to drown them out. During this time, a Native American activist named Nathan Phillips waded into the middle of the group and began banging his drum in the face of one Nick Sandmann.
The interaction went viral with everyone from the leftist media, celebrities, and politicians targeting the boys for everything from suggestions of expelling them from the school, to burning them alive. The school was even forced to shut down on Tuesday over security concerns.
All of this had played out over the course of the weekend and the subsequent weekdays leading up to now, however, Omar was either not paying attention to the media firestorm, or deliberately attempted to lie about what happened concerning the Covington Catholic students.
On Wednesday, a whole four days after the truth came out thanks to a two-hour long video detailing the entire event, Omar released a tweet accusing the students of screaming pro-rape things, taunting the Black Israelite hate group, and surrounding Phillips to lead in racists chants.
“The boys were protesting a woman’s right to choose & yelled ‘it’s not rape if you enjoy it’ … They were taunting 5 Black men before they surrounded Phillips and led racist chants … Sandmann’s family hired a right wing PR firm to write his non-apology,” tweeted Omar.
It would appear that Omar has since deleted the tweet as Twitter no longer recognizes the page’s existence. However, the internet is forever, and Caleb Hull tweeted out Omar’s blatantly false tweet for posterity.
Seeing this — and I’m not kidding — Omar took a screenshot of Hull’s tweet and accused him of hypocrisy as well as spreading “misinformation” by making sure her false tweet remained visible.
“Gotta love hypocrites!” began Omar. “If the issue was misinformation, then don’t separate that same misinformation. By continuing to share the tweet, aren’t you spreading the same “misinformation” you say you are against? If you just wanted to “own the libs,” then go ahead.”
During the course of writing this article, Omar deleted that tweet too, but thankfully one was taken of this tweet before she could.
I thought Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was the most ridiculous freshman lawmaker, but it would appear we have a contender for the throne.
