WATCH: Ocasio-Cortez Thinks the Migrants Trying to Get In Through the Southern Border Are More American Than You

You can always count on New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to go crazy after a Republican so much as breathes, so you can bet the Democratic party darling had some things to say after President Donald Trump’s Oval Office address, where he talked to the American people about the crisis at the border.

If you were to ask Ocasio-Cortez, however, there’s not only not a border crisis, those trying to sneak their way into America are more American than the Americans trying to keep them out, and also, Trump is a racist.

Appearing on MSNBC with host Rachel Maddow, Ocasio ranted about Trump with all the leading questions you would expect from Maddow.

Ocasio-Cortez first accused Trump of holding the paychecks of the American people hostage during the shutdown over the border wall, forgetting that the Democrats are the ones refusing to give up the money to fund the border wall that would have a drastic effect on the safety and economic health of the U.S.

Then, forgetting that she herself told “60 Minutes” that being factual isn’t all that important, she railed on Trump about how everything that came out of his mouth was false.

“And not only that, but in the actual address, there was falsehood after falsehood and we have to make sure that we get our facts straight,” Ocasio-Cortez said to Maddow. “Every day immigrants commit crimes at a far lower rate than everyday Americans.”

Then Ocasio-Cortez dropped the bomb that immigrants trying to come to America with nothing are more American than Americans.

“And not only that, but the women and children on that border that are trying to seek refuge and seek opportunity in the United States of America, with nothing but the shirt on their back, are acting more American than any person who seeks to keep them out ever will be,” added the democratic socialist.

Maddow also wanted to get her hits in by asking a very leading question about Trump’s truthfulness.

“What’s your take on the fact that the president’s been telling these same lies for years now, and not shying away from that at all?” asked Maddow.

Ocasio-Cortez responded simply by calling Trump a life-long racist:

I think it’s unsurprising because even before he was elected President of the United States, he has a proven track record of discrimination against anybody who’s really non-white in the United States. He had been sued by the Nixon administration back in the day for not renting to black Americans, he has had controversy after controversy, so this is very consistent. It’s not just the continued lies throughout his administration but frankly it’s part of a very consistent pattern of his entire life.

Maddow and Ocasio-Cortez continued their back and forth, until, at one point, the New York Democrat decided to attack ICE along with Trump, and accused the President of trying to restrict immigration in all its forms:

He has separated children from their families: he talked about what happened the day after Christmas, on the day of Christmas, a child died in ICE custody. The president should not be asking for more money to an agency that has systematically violated human rights. The president should be really defending why we are funding such an agency at all because right now what we are seeing is death, right now what we are seeing is the violation of human rights, these children and these families are being held in what are called Yeletas, which are basically freezing boxes that no person should be maintained in for any amount of time, let alone the amount of time they are being kept on, and moreover, even if you are anti-immigrant, in this country, the majority of immigrant overstays, the majority of the reason that people are undocumented is visa overstay. It’s not because people are crossing a border illegally. It is because of visa overstay which mind you, he’s talking about legal immigration — he’s trying to restrict every form of legal immigration there is in the United States.

Ocasio-Cortez’s final words were a direct summation of what she and Maddow talked about, including reiterating the fact that the migrants at the border are more American than Trump:

He’s fighting against family reunification; he’s fighting against the diversity visa lottery, he’s fighting against almost every way that people can actually legally enter this country, forcing them to become undocumented, and then he’s trying to attack their undocumented status. This is systematic; it is wrong; and it’s anti-American. And again, those women and children trying to come here with nothing but the shirts on their back to create an opportunity and to provide for this nation, are acting more in an American tradition than this president is right now.
