Running afoul of Sarah Sanders isn’t advisable, as the Press Secretary has the innate ability to make her target small and ineffectual, and ridiculous.
She demonstrated this again on Monday as she demolished former FBI director James Comey when he attacked President Donald Trump, Republicans over their “mean tweets” and Fox News being the “face of fear.” The comments came after his testimony to Congress over his handling of Hillary Clinton’s email scandal.
“Republicans used to understand that the actions of a President matter,” Comey said. “That words of a President matter, the rule of law matters in the truth matters. Where are those Republicans today? At some point, someone has to stand up and in the face of fear of Fox News, fear of their base, fear of mean tweets, stand up for the values of this country and not slink away into retirement, but stand up and speak the truth.”
Comey added that Republicans would have to “explain to their grandchildren what they did today.”
Not taking that lying down, Sanders took to Twitter to blow Comey out of the water.
“Republicans should stand up to Comey and his tremendous corruption – from the fake Hillary Clinton investigation, to lying and leaking, to FISA abuse, and a list too long to name,” Sanders tweeted. “The President did the country a service by firing him and exposing him for the shameless fraud he is.”

It’s rich that Comey, of all people, would declare that others would have to explain to their grandchildren what it is they were up to. He is, after all, the man who highly likely leaked confidential information in order to strike a blow to the President and kick off an investigation meant to bring him down.
Then he lied about it.
Sanders is 100% correct, and his being kicked out of the FBI was one of the best moves Trump made during his presidency.
